First post? How about my new car?

Mar 15, 2018 1:51 AM

I just bought this today. I've wanted one for years. Its a 1997 Honda Integra DC2 Type R. Universally considered to be the best handling FWD car ever made.

This example is a Japan delivered model, meaning it was originally sold in japan. the JDM models are the highest spec and fastest you can get. This one was imported here, to New Zealand, in 2006.

Engine is the 1.8L B18CR, putting out 197BHP, with a red line of 8300RPM. VTEC (yo) engages at 5800RPM.

Here she is parked next to my old car (a Toyota Celica ST202, which I also adore)

Please be careful.

I had an 06 RSX, miss that car so much. I'm shit with cars, maybe I can pay someone to restore an Integra for me.

Sweet car man! But just fyi JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market

Yup I know that. Was just trying to make sure it wasnt confused with being "JDM" but not actually a JDM car, because "Its JDM bro" memes

I wish the DC2s in the US had that front end! And great choice with Championship White!

Its actually hard to find one not in white. I've been looking for months, saw one silver one and one black one. Rest were white.

Honda Integra? Interesting. Around here it was badged as an Acura vehicle. In any case, it does look like a great car.

Because us Americans are dumb and needed a new luxury class to say I'm better than you.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, its badged as Acura in the US, as a Honda Everywhere else.

And after 2004 it was renamed to RSX in North America for some dumb reason.

you trying to tell me that nobody has produced a better handling FWD in over 20 years? i refuse to believe that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At the time, it was the best hands down. People raved about it. The 2018 Civic Type R would easily beat it, but its title still stands

WAS the best handling. big difference. also doesn't JDM stand for "japanese domestic market", not "Japan delivered model"?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, it does. This JDM car, imported here later on.

Prolly paid out the ass

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. Cost the equivilent of $5000 USD.

Lucky here in the US we pay triple for imports and even then a lot of states have restrictions on them.

Best FWD handling car? Apparently you've never driven the Chrysler Town & Country

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Never even heard of that
