*Edit - First time going viral! Thank you all for making me laugh and getting through days when I want to just quit and cry!

Masturbating in front of me still didn't count as a bad day- at least they were conscious.

#9 my mom was a nurse for years. Never broke HIPPA but she'd always tell us when she added another doctor to the list. This is hilarious.

#4 My brother was an EMT and fire fighter. Dinners were... graphic. Now his daughter is an ER nurse so family gatherings are doubly awesome!

My husband gets sooooo mad when i talk about work things at the table lol

ED MD here. can confirm.

#2 That was one of the funniest exchanges to me in that show. Her delivery is so fucking good. And JD's response is perfect.

How do you know you've been a nurse too long? You've seen more penises than a prostitute. I'm celebrating 40 years as an RN June 12th.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Congratulations!!! 18 yrs for me in July

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nurses are all fun as fuck keep up the good work ladies and gents

Love Keanu! Thank you

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Drawing blood would be so much easier if the nurses BELIEVED me when I say they'll never find the vein in my right arm!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mom's a nurse, true. But there should be a shout out to CNAs, nurses couldn't function without them.

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

So true! Thank you to all the CNAs, unit clerks, housekeeping, security — we can’t do it without you

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Seriously it's a whole ecosystem. Except doctors. Picks lol...well most.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Thanks Nurses

I feel you... allow me to share my favorite nurse meme

I’m adding to my collection, thank you

LTC nurse here bridging from LPN to RN (less than 300 days left woops woop!). Spilled Mucomyst on my leg at 6am and someone vomited in 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My shoe. But I got alot of time to myself yesterday which was nice ...but it was d/t the smell.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I will say there is plenty of cringy self over-appreciation in nursing. Not that these things aren't true though.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I try to stay humble when I think that one careless error made can kill someone

More scrubs

As a man dating a nurse I lolled on the last one.

I have had a fair few dealings with the NHS, personal, family and work, Nurses are fekken awesome people!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My work had a high welfare component When mum was rushed into hospital I had a helpful and flirty surprisingly chat with one of the nurses

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Towards the end, we realised she had been standing there holding a full bedpan The things you learn to filter out

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Other people's horrified reactions killed what might have been a moment :-D

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The old punchline "Some asshole has my pen!"

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 6

Alternately, "Why is there a thermometer tucked behind my ear?

Thanks ^^

Thank you

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lol I still read "RN" as "real n*gga" like ludacris taught me. Yet another American acronym I have to google

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Said Dr J. Sins.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmmm, tried to google that with no luck and tried to understand its meaning. No luck and I hate to ask.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s probably for the best.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The primary job of a nurse is to keep doctors from killing you.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

Remind me of sarges and LTs

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol let’s see how many people die if doctors took one day off.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My mom was a nurse. I can definitely confirm the dismemberment/dinner thing.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Watching surgery shows during dinner was normal for me. I'm guessing it was similar for you, too?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, my dad wouldn't go for that :)

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually in a hospital right now with my oldest son and the nurses here are fantastic! Y'all are rock stars!

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Aww I hope he’s going to be ok

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Getting discharged today! Thanks for your concern. And again, nurses rock!!

#2 Pressure 40/26, is that even real? Is that in mmHg? Or is it in yet another imaginary units, like deci-inches or some other crap?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What's "mmHg"? Also milligrams are a real unit. It's the metric system. Try it sometime.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Just for the special people, like yourself: http://letmegooglethat.com/?q=mmhg Also, I'm pretty sure pressure isn't measured in milligrams.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

"Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to letmegooglethat.com."

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, what "pressure"? Morphine is measured in milligrams.

Why is this such a common thing among medical and emergency professionals in the US, the shifts I mean? (1)

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Nursing shifts are usually 12+hrs- 3 or 4 days in a row with only 6hrs sleep each night (or day) you start to question your sanity

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Where at? Ours are generally 8s or 10s. 12s used to be awesome. 3 shifts but paid for 40hrs

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m in NYC/Metro area. We do 3 12’s and then the 4th week of the month we do an extra (4th) shift to make up the time.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doesn't it endanger patient safety if the people treating them are about to collapse on the floor from exhaustion? (2/2)

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Becoming anything medical in the US is expensive and difficult. Not enough workers + for-profit healthcare = Fuck a duck.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It does endanger people. Staying awake 24 straight hours is like being mid-range drunk. I can't speak to why.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Lack of unions. That's the sole reason.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It does and back in 2011 NY had to pass a law prohibiting mandatory OT for nurses.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If the resident does nothing else than order morphine for the 40/25 patient you might es well give it because he'll die anyway

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not on my license

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agreed! You can try to pull that sh*t on someone else’s shift

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 clearly photoshopped. Shes not playing cards.

Unless you’re a tech or a CNA working on your pre-reqs for nursing school. Then it’s flash cards and notes for the next day’s test.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I understood that reference!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We play pubg now

6 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 0

Work in hospital, can confirm

6 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Twist a knob and the heart patients ekg switches to hi def and streams your gameplay to twitch.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Why would we want to socialize? Are you new to nursing?

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

A few years ago some politician accused nurses of mostly sitting around playing cards…

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The crazy part is, that politician is still alive.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was hoping to find this here. Just shows how fucking disconnected polticians are from reality

6 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 1

Kinda unfair to discredit all of them due to a few fuckwits, it really depends on a country by country basis.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Politicians? No, its completely fair. Finding the non-fuckwit politician is, by far, the exception rather than the rule.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And they make rules based on their feelings instead of data. Scary stuff.

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

You clearly didn't hear the whole quote, but this just shows how everyone gets their news from clickbait headlines.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 27

Thanks. Facts always help a joke.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i've read a few articles of her saying it, she deserves the negative flak. in your opinion though, what made it a good idea to say that?

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

As long as it's not from fox

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I just looked it up. It sounds pretty asinine in context too.

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

To her credit, she was pretty cool about admitting she was wrong and it was a dumb thing to say:

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

She was also only referring to nurses at rural medical centers that didn't see many patients. The news made it out like she said ALL nurses.
