Markiplier, the YouTube comedian, posted a powerful video I hope gets to the front page and I hope millions of people see, and I know he would like people to see.
This guy right here is a human. He is no better or worse than you and me, yet, we think of him as higher in society. Why? Because he's popular? Because he makes a lot of money?
Yes, and yes. How do you think we would treat him if he wasn't popular? Like an average joe. Funny as hell, yes, but just someone else in the world. Lost, looking for a purpose.
This man is respected. Why respect someone less if they aren't popular? We've all seen it, not the latest iPhone, not a cool shirt, etc. Well, why respect someone less if they don't make money?
Why not respect someone who disagrees with you? Because the issue is too easy to wave away. It's too easy to label a person, wether it be good or bad, you are dehumanizing them.
The absolute, unchangeable truth is we as humans are all equal. When we treat someone with a higher or lower respect we are no better than primates, throwing shit at each other.
Hell, people are turning back into primates when they don't get their way.
Humans, no matter age, skin colour, ethnicity, sexuality, wealth, popularity, height, power, strength, gender, opinions, likings, or ideas, are equal. And nothing, not protests, Feminazis, BLM extremists, terrorist groups, countries, politicians, or anything anyone tells you, can change that.
Even if someone is the most hated person to have lived, wether it be Hitler or the recently-deceased Cuban dictator (we've seen the Twitter posts on him and people giving him respect), we still, at the end of everything, are humans. We're still that young, cheerful child in us all, wondering how we got here, what our purpose is, and why we're here.
