The state park is basically the grounds of the former Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital Center

Half the park though is the former V.A. Hospital

The buildings have taken a beating from years of neglect and parties.

Some though are in good shape.

The staff quarters side of the park is in much worse conditions.

Seemed like a nice place at one point.

The buildings are very sketchy to go into at this point.

Staff house.

Very dangerous to enter.

But I still do, some buildings are safer then others.

Large residency hall.

Cat Tax. As we were walking out of the last building I felt something watching us. This is the look we got back.

is this place still standing an worth visiting

Ever find homeless people there?

Nope. I've been there a bunch and have never seen one.

I'd like to see it, especially when it was in operation.

It was pretty impressive. The psych side started as a colony hospital. They had a dairy farm, gardens, a private fire department.

Completely self sufficient.

How vast and impressive. I love exploring old places, abandoned or not. Anything old entices me to learn about it.
