Watch out that car is driving the wrong way!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Does that make the volcano's caldera a giant...... ash hole?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now entering silent hill.

My heart skipped, I thought that car was on the wrong side!

I just finished watching Volcano too LOL

Is this British Airways flight 9? All four engines have stopped.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like mars

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Was mentioning this to a co-worker. Rather have snow than deal with volcanoes.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I remember when the sky was red here in SF.. thank goodness we had to wear masks already

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s like you got swept up in a big ash hole.

Haha. I’m a substitute teacher. It’s a great one for impressing kids! “If you can beat me at hangman I’ll let you go to break early!”

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like that wouldn't actually be that hard considering it has every vowel and most of the consonants

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not very descriptive. Any damage at all is more damage than snow.

5 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

I was really, really confused by that one. Like tf does snow do to the lungs? It won't even hurt your car. Salt, however... will.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Coworker’s brother died in a ski accident: headfirst into a snowbank, inhaled the powder, snow-drowned before they pulled him out. Rare tho.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Would driving in ash feel like driving in sand?

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the particulates are like tiny pieces of glass that will tear your alveoli when inhaled which is, not good.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the gradient. When Saint Helens blew in 1980 my grandma said the ash that fell on them in ND was like flour being blown around.

in my experience, ash smears into fine powder so probably not..comimg from a SoCal resident who has seen more ash fall from the sky than snow

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

so, raining ash from fires not volcanoes.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But what about raining blood? From say, for example, a lacerated sky?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you don't know this, volcanic ash (pumice), forms a cement like substance in your lungs. If you're driving through shit like this /1

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

because there's been an eruption, you need to get a mask to safely breath (protect yourself). An N95 is rated for things like this, so /2

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

basically standard COVID stuff, except you can see the ash because it clumps together, although the smallest stuff is literally /3

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

microscopic. So mask up for protection. Learn more at the following link! /4

Thanks I was curious if wetting cloth and putting it over your face would help (it doesn’t according to the link)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you are saying that it isn’t snow, it is ash from a volcanic eruption? Am I hearing you correctly?

5 years ago | Likes 158 Dislikes 4

No. But you are READING them correctly.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think he's trying to tell you that it is not snow but ash from an apparent volcanic eruption.

5 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

So to confirm, this is indeed not snow, which it appears to be, but it is actually ash, from a volcanic eruption?

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Correct. He "believes " it is snow, not ash, from the confirmed (and plainly visible) volcano, that is spewing ash, not snow.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

In the future

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Sorry I couldn't hear you, I have some ash in my ears. What did you say?

5 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 1

I’m asking, if you’re saying, that what I’m seeing, is not snow, but actually ash from a volcanic eruption... please confirm if that is true

Putting me on the spot. lol it's better to break them down through Director and trilogies. I'll post tomorrow, it's 3am rn

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely, I was not expecting much from it when I watched it, but it really was an incredible film.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Right I usely dislike Stiller but I loved this movie

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly. I think it's beautifully written and everyone, including Walter, were surprised at his capabilities.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really enjoyed this film...

5 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 0

I liked the dissociation scenes.. if felt like they were so similar to my life..

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it would have been better if Ben Stiller didn’t try to make it a comedy. Those parts felt awkward. Should have just been a drama.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Nah I loved everything about it.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

The original short story by James Thurber is funny and the 1947 movie version with Danny Kaye was also quite funny.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Then maybe someone other than Ben Stiller should have handled it

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Nice opinion. It's wrong, but nice that you have one.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Same, really underrated flick with a great score.

And incredible cinematography.

True. Its one of those movies that lives up to the trailer, because they actually shot it that way.

Loved this movie. I like when actors step outta their genre. Will Ferrell in *Stranger than fiction* pulled it off really well too. Imo.

I totally agree. Both movies were fantastic.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great film as well. They filmed it at my university, so was super fun for me to see how they used the space.

Was at a mechanic early last year listening to a woman complain to the mechanic that her filter doesn’t need replacing, she just had it 1/?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Replaced not long ago. He said “everyone needs their filter replaced now”. I live in Australia, this was like a month after the fires 2/2

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The rock dust in the ash will age your whole car 10 years. Its nasty abrasive and corrosive.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah, don't open your windows until you wash that off good either.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Stay in your car until it rains.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Engine detail, replace filter, strongest underbody wash you can find, recoat underbody, wash & wax car, check for body rust, treat as needed

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The cabin air filter too, not just the engine air filter.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Dont forget the lungs too

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes! So many people forget about cabin filters they get absolutely disgusting.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

all those glass particles floating around. What I probably would do is cover it with pantyhose or something. Good for another couple miles

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Foam/mesh pre-filters are great to use on engines exposed to harsh conditions. Always ran them in my off-road vehicles that saw sand often.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Protip, buy a nice K&N drop in replacement. It's a lifetime filter, you just knock it out, blow with compressed air and put it back.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Do not use compressed air it will fuck up the cotton, only wash&oil. Filters like AEM Dryflow can be blown out, no oil needed.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You need to wash and reoil the filter. The oil from the filter sometime causes issues with some manufacturer throttle body sensor.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bonus points for letting more trash through while providing a bigger restriction than a stock filter.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm not talking about one of those BS cone filters, I agree those are terrible. But they make drop-in ones that go in your stock filter box.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know, those are just as BS as the cone filters. K&N is good at the start, that's it www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes you want good filtration go with OEM. I run AEM Dryflow filters in mine since they're not oiled and they're both performance/track cars.
