Reopening doesn't mean we've achieved herd immunity. It doesn't mean everyone that has gotten it will get it it. It means that closing worked, we flattened the curve enough so that our hospitals have room for the new sick, dying and dead without overloading the system. And even that isn't entirely accurate; bed counts are dropping. New cases are skyrocketing, and not just among older or at risk folks. People are at home, out of work, unable to afford groceries or medicine or rent or mortgages. It's still a huge fucking mess, and our president admits he slowed down testing so that he could lie to you about the numbers, sacrificing our most vulnerable populations for the sake of the stock market, to get us "back to work".
I'm unemployed, taking care of my senior at-risk father, and having a bad day and this hit me right at my breaking point. Take care of eachother, wear your mask, wash your hands, be thoughtful about how you feel before you go out in the world, keep your distance. And seriously, take care of eachother.

Our supposed 'leaders' are so many servile clowns, beholden to nothing but the oligarchs who installed them. A revolution is inevitable.

In these trying times, were in this together...so you may have to die for our profit margins.

You *merely* need about 24 million US dollars to have a trillion Iranian Rials.

Its not the "capitalist fascists" going out in public in throngs w/o masks, thats the stupid ass individuals. They're the ones spreading it.

You're right ab it not being old people though I think the average age dropped form ~55 to ~39.

Who do you think brainwashed them into normalizing it?

Sad part is many countries were hit at the same time, shut down and are now easing into reopening. So you could have been reopening now too.

Except you’d be reopening now with a better plan, better prepared to mitigate or hopefully avoid second waves, and a lot less deaths so far.

Here in Texas the majority of the new cases are ages 20-39.

Not sure that’s relevant. That’s the age range with the most population iirc. A rate/percentage would be more accurate

"New cases are skyrocketing, and not just among older or at risk folks" that's how it's relevant.
