My now teenaged nieces once played a nice quiet morning game while their parents were "sleeping" (listening in) that they called Poop & Stick. The rules were you had to get poop on your stick. Their parents got up pretty quickly upon hearing the rules and were happy to learn it was metaphorical poop.
They have a surreal and absurd sense of humor--just like we did at their age, before the world's boundless cruelty knocked the sporks from our hands and silenced the song of the narwhals.
The kids are alright. And they're gonna be fine--the ones who don't get murked by the gestapo, anyway.
I don't remember it because my early years are filled with pain from abusive care givers. But I like to imagine it was something like what my silly kindergarten students would've said or done last year.
I feel you brother and or sister. Life has just been one long train of endless cruelty, be it parents who didn’t want a kid, teachers who decided to pick on that one kid, or any of th shit going on now. I didn’t ask to be born into this hellscape and I want off this rock
Also had abusive care givers. My art was my escape and I remember it fondly. Then adult life came after I was kicked out and had less and less time to indulge. Less resources to be able to indulge.
Then my body started to break down and now I'll never be able to pick up an instrument or a pen the same way ever again.
