As ronald desantis would say, these sex trafficked children get to travel and see new places!

Never heard of it to just now so I looked it up on Wikipedia and found this gem: :"Donald Trump will host a special screening of the film at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster during the third week of July 2023". A literal pedophile and customer of child trafficking supporting a movie that supposedly criticizes child trafficking.

Sound of Freedom is what my ass calls a loud, cacophonous fart.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Based on the movie posters, I'd guess it's about 2 gay men raising a child.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Okay, so QAnon is shit and everything about them is shit. But after reading through the plot of the movie I'm not really seeing any conspiracy theory being pushed by the movie itself - unless it's the fact that child sex trafficing exists. That said, everything else that *surrounds* the movie is kinda terrible what with the Trump screenings and what Caviezel has been saying. It's basically a not terrible movie surrounded by a mountain of shit.

2 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 9

The comments on the trailer are all really bizarre: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt0kp4VW1cI

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There is a huge fake push for this movie. The subject isn't Qanon specific, other than they love accusing everyone but themselves of being pedos. The company has site set up where you can 'donate' to 'buy' movie tickets for others. They are using this to make the movie look far more successful that it is. There is massive bot campaign on review sites too. Just standard psudo christian and qanon combining forces.

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

It does sound like a pretty stupid movie, but that isn't rare. like why did the father just leave his kids with a rando. But my only guess would be about the US side not helping out, like no funding and telling dude to return, and then them passing a new law at the end. also from the real org itself seems suspect, 'The organization has been criticized for its conduct during sting operations and for exaggerated claims regarding its work'. and Ballard left after an internal investigation, etc.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And here I was thinking that the right wing "sound of Freedom" was the "Sound of children screaming" which was removed from that other video...

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

someone with talent and creativity should do this, overlay the sound of freedom logo over the clips of school shootings where it has the caption "sound of children screaming". or have the sound of the sound of freedom trailer dubbed onto those videos... im not saying child trafficking isnt important, just that there is one immediate and effective thing they can do to protect children from harm

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right so I actually saw this movie. There was no political statement, that I could recall. All it did was raise my awareness that sex trafficking crimes are still yet again, by and large not committed by drag queens. Beauty queens might get involved but not drag queens.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I've been seeing a slew of people who claim that Sound of Freedom is being hyjacked by projector problems and broken AC in theaters. But no real explanation for how that benifits a theater.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It doesn’t. It might be real people with a conscience tho.

My suspicion is that the server they download the movie from is hot garbage and folks are going to see it in the middle of a heatwave.

Chicago. And no, there was nothing factually objectionable. The film doesn't go anywhere near any conspiracy theories at all.

Seriously I saw the movie not know the controversy and I'm confused. The movie was just sad like. Hey there are child sex traffickers and that's bad but it is a reality. I guess I could see people seeing it a little as pro US propaganda but if you ignore the US side of things I felt it was worth the watch.

Just read he;s Wikipedia page. He mentions about 'adrenochroming'. The hyperlink took me to the Qanon wikipeida page which refers to arenochroming as: Hollywood elites engage in "adrenochrome harvesting", in which adrenalin is extracted from children's blood to produce the psychoactive drug adrenochrome. These people are fuckin wild in their beliefs. They just wanna be superheros to have some meaning to their lives.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Because once unhinged and dangerous ideologies make it into a mainstream blockbuster it can shift a whole chunk of our culture.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't understand. What does this movie have to do with Qanon? My parents (anti-trump folks and very much NOT Qanon) saw it and said it was pretty good. Granted, they'll go see almost any movie with a positive message, but my dad is usually a pretty harsh critic afterwards. Is it really wacko?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It is a very subtle kind of propaganda. The movie will have a similar negative affect to "Stranger Danger" since; statistically, more children are abducted by people they know. The slogan led them to suspect outside individuals when they should have been watching their own relatives. SoF acts similarly with its implication that foreign agents are kidnapping children out of Walmart parking lots when alot of the children being trafficked are also run aways and some even sold by their parents.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It will have people watching and falsely accusing Latinos and immigrants leading to more hysteria and won't prevent any child abductions. Additionally the only source that these events even happened is Tim Ballards word and the girl Ballard saves; Rocio, does in fact exist and has come forward and stated that no one saved her, she escaped on her own. So the entire climax of the film is pure fantasy.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dang. I had no idea. Can you link me a source on where she said that? I'm sorry, I know it's kind of a lmgtfy moment, but I didn't see it in a quick google search, and I'd love to show my folks. I'd hate to think they're recommending it to people without knowing the whole story, ya know? Thanks!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had to look up astroturfing.

2 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

CORE is an astroturf lobbyist for factory farms and Phillip Morris. CORE got paid about $500k to make people hate PETA, which they achieved largely through astroturfing. As a result, most people will auto-upvote any 'Fuck PETA' post because some chihuahua got picked up in a raid a dozen years ago - while at the same time the same people won't give two shits about how fucking horrible Tyson Foods is for the mistreated animals, the underpaid employees, or the consumers of nasty factory farm meat.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

I mean, the facts on why people say 'Fuck PETA' are publicly available - https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-peta-responsible-deaths-thousands-animals-1565532 https://www.theatlant65532">https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-peta-responsible-deathic.co">65532">https://www.newsweek.com">s-thou">ic.co">65532">https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-peta-responsible-deaths-thousands-animals-1565532 https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2012/03/petas-terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad-history-of-killing-animals/254130/ https://www.zmescience.com/feature-post/pieces/peta-killing-campaign-28032019/ https://petakillsanimals.com/proof-peta-kills/

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

One of your links is the exact website run by CORE. Just shows how effective lobbyists can be. Factory farms spent a paltry $500k, and basically turned the attention of the entire nation away from their horrible practices and focused it on their largest critic instead.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

To save anyone else from having to Google it: "Astroturfing is the practice of hiding the sponsors of a message or organization to make it appear as though it originates from, and is supported by, grassroots participants. It is a practice intended to give the statements or organizations credibility by withholding information about the source's financial backers."

2 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Not to show my small townedness but it's wild to me you can buy tickets in advance to a movie.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

I basically never go to a theater where i *cant* reserve the seats i want.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

In the city it's pretty necessary or you risk showing up to the theatre and not being able to see the show at all because the theatre sold out. Had that happen more than once

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is the best thing that ever happened to movies. AMC A List Pass w/ 1/2 price Tuesdays means I never get there and find out my family doesn't have seats together.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

waiting in line works if you have time in your life to kill or a small enough group that has easy access to that venue. buying movie tickets in advance has been a thing since the 90s, so it's about time to get used to it

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How busy are you people if waiting in line for a movie is too tall of an order?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

return to office bullshit + shitty mass transit and constant construction, so 3 hour roundtrip commute, 9-10 hour workday min, + cooking, sleeping, everything else to stay alive/acceptable in modern society, so why go all the way to a theater that could already be sold out but still have to wait in line to find that out? don't understand why you want to waste even a minute with pointless waiting. this seems like the easiest time saving even if you live in a town of 2 people with a 1 seat theater

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like you don't have enough time to even watch a movie, let alone wait for one.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"so why go all the way to a theater that could already be sold out but still have to wait in line to find that out?"

2 years ago | Likes 208 Dislikes 9

Alright..I'm now determined to (illegally because the movie sounds iffy as fuck) watch this and give it a 1 to 10 rating based SOLELY on it's movie qualities while ignoring every stupid political commentary it might make.

By 'RT' I assume you mean the russian, state-controlled international news television network funded by the russian government.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Sorry, meant on Rotten Tomatoes, but the Russians being involved would be amusing.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I reckon anyone actually going to see it seriously will give it a 10 as well because they eat that shit up like Joey Chestnut at the Nathan’s hot dog contest. You can literally tell them anything as long as it isn’t on “mainstream” media, they will unapologetically believe it.

2 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 2

I wonder if QAnon's "Joey Chestnut" realizes he's eating turd dogs? "Wow, this texture is so soft. Ghuhhhh. *Must power through it* Ghuhhhhhhh" *intense, sustained, painful puking noises ensue*

Seriously I watch most movies for entertainment. I understand that it's not the truth.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait. Are you saying that conservatives, incels and neo-nazis are actually going on Rotten Tomatoes and posting FAKE REVIEWS to make Bloodsport 2.0 (Now with emotional manipulation!) seem like a good movie when it isnt!?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is because the owner of OUR shows up after the movie and uses all the emotions he's created in his viewers to ask them to buy tickets for their friends. It's an MLM style grift. The next step is to claim Democrats either don't want to save kids from sex trafficking or are behind it.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It has 100% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Something is fucky.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I guess it's time to make an imdb account. If you post a negative comment on hollywood you'll never be read. So fuck youtube. Will also make a rottent tomato account just 1 star these mofos. My guess is they're supressing the sound of NADQ. Projecting mother fuckers.

2 years ago | Likes 878 Dislikes 14

Doubtful. I'm sure the talent was cheap, they already had the sets and just had to clear them of business for the day, and I'm sure they had technical experts lined up for blocks based on the GOP track record.

The people doing this ARE the shadowy cabal. Or they’re trying to be, anyway.

2 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 2

Your math is wrong. The movie has grossed $100million so it could not cost more than that. Also remember that the production company gets back 50% of each ticket sold so that brings the cost down to 50million. But I do not think ALL the sales are fake. In deep red states it is probably doing well. So if you figure perhaps 20% of the sales are fake that leaves a cost of just $10 million. In any regular movie that is just part of the marketing budget.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 21

Figure, how?

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Follow the money. A person is getting paid to buy those seats, and they should be easy to track down. Someone is employing that person.

It's the fucking mormons. The guy who made the movie is Mormon and he's asking everyone that watches it to support him by buying tickets for their friends and telling them to post about it as if the story it's based on isn't wildly exaggerated and as if he isn't causing more problems than he's solving.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I watched the movie not knowing any of this stuff. Obviously a dramatization, but I liked it shedding light on a topic that you don't see much in movies but is definitely happening. I see how it might be seen as like pro US propaganda but I didn't take it like that at all it was just a sad and difficult movie to watch. Not sure why everyone is so against it, then again I don't know the background of who made the movie. As someone who is pretty left leaning I didn't see anything wrong with it.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

The people who have a problem with it are people who haven't seen it. It's a pretty sad and hypocritical state of affairs.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean we can't be against QAnon and its conspiracy theories which they made into a movie! Now we have proof they're just astroturfing ticket sales across the country to the tune of $100 million. Anyone who supports that movie is supporting QAnon.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

As someone who hasn't seen it but is curious, what are the QAnon conspiracy theories in this movie?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I don't know cuz I ain't watching it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

As I have mentioned I am very left leaning I watched it and it seemed more like just trying to expose the child sex trafficking industry. But I guess the background of it is supposedly pro American prop. Just giving my objective opinion.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I am not interested in seeing it (not really because of the controversy, just, I'm not really excited to watch children be abused), but this article sums it up fairly well. Tldr, it's mostly the actor and the person the movie is based on. https://www.npr.org/2023/07/19/1188405402/qanon-supporters-are-promoting-sound-of-freedom-heres-why

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What I do know for sure is the activist this film is about has been accused of falsifying numbers so his organization looks more successful than it is. All in all this movie seems to be unhelpful in shedding light on the realism of it all, but I personally expect that from a movie. People shouldn't be taking any "based on a true story" film as gospel.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Totally fair, I'm just saying I had no idea. Just saw the ad looked it up and went. And it definitely did not feel like qanon conspiracy stuff. Objectively I thought it was an interesting movie, but for sure if any of the money goes to supporting repub/qanon groups I would suggest not paying and just pirating it.

Well you can get free tickets since they're literally giving them away online to go see it if you want to subject your brain QAnon garbage. I keep my brain safe from stuff like Fox News or anything Right-wing really, and if the right is saying Sound of Freedom is a good movie, I know it's not.

Ok but that's what I am saying. I am definitely a lefty and I didn't see what was wrong with the movie.
