They obviously don't understand everything is made of chemicals. List the ingredients to an apple and they'll say its poison

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

watch out for dihydrogen monoxide, it's in everything and causes a condition known as hyponatremia, quick tell all your facebook friends!

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I’ve seen anti-vax people at work, prattle on about chemicals. They buy three packs of Marlboro.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

but it's a NURITOCKSIN *facepalm*

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Better than injecting your kids with bleach....

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Vaccines have dihydrogen monoxide in them, too. Dangerous stuff, can be deadly in minutes at a high enough dosage!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tell us, o ignorant half-assed twat without any real medical experience, what is a "nuritoxin"? That word appears not to exist, unlike you.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"nuritoxin"

4 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 0

Nutri-Toxin, its the latest diet craze sweeping the world! With our pre packaged meals, you'll lose weight, and slim down!

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, I am always asking my doctor to please not use "carcinogen".

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

"Big word scary. Best not google. Might give me a startle." :D

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What is "nuritoxin"? (That was hard to type. Autocorrect went nuts.)

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's how you type "neurotoxin" once you've absorbed too many of them.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Covid revealed that there's actually something I hate internet for, it makes it too easy to poison peoples minds with false claims and fear.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's a nuritoxin? Do they mean neurotoxin?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They must have already had too much of the toxin, because they are low on neuro-.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I hate it when someone calmly and rationally explains stuff to me with facts. Get that out of here!

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I mean you list what's in an apple and some of that shit can kill you in large amounts but you still give it to your kid as a healthy snack.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have them drink Diet Caffeine free Diet Coke that day I'm a can for a year. That has more formaldehyde than any vaccine.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

reminds me of the "dihydrogen monoxide" meme's. Anything can sound scary worded properly.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ban dihydorgen monoxide now!

Anti-vaxxers prove that ignorance is contagious.

4 years ago | Likes 277 Dislikes 3

These are the same people in school when I was growing up that said “I’ll never need to know science”

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

FEAR is contagious, ignorance is bliss

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

My sister is a nurse and tried to talk me out of getting vaccinated. Because she didn't know why I would "inject that poison into my body".

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is she a Registered Nurse, or a Licensed Vocational Nurse?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She's an idiot. Also, I don't know, but assuming registered nurse.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*neurotoxin. and no it's not. I mean in huge amounts yeah, but the amount in your deoderant isn't.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Literally none of those are in the vaccine tho.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dad’s biggest concern about vaccines is the mercury-I’ve sent him all the stats but he’s still so concerned. He got the COVID vaccine tho

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Like koopaya said, the compound matters. Mercury in thimerosal isn't easily absorbed by the body.

Thanks, bud. My dad is an engineer so he thinks he knows it all and doesn’t trust scientists. Lol it’s the religious influence I think?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ll try to explain it to him again though. It’s hard when I want to give him credit for getting this vaccine but he ought to get a flu shot

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

also salt is made of chlorine and sodium. chlorine is highly toxic and sodium explodes on contact with water. you are about 70% water. /

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ergo you must stop eating salt forever or you are going to explode one day!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stop trying to lie to us with your facts.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, antifreeze is Ethylene Glycol. It is what antivaxxers drank as children that turned them into antivaxxers.

4 years ago | Likes 170 Dislikes 2

Ethylene glycol is not the only antifreeze. Propylene glycol is also used, and is less toxic. Even glycerol can be used, and that's edible.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Won't it give you the sharts if you eat it plain, though?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Although, antifreeze-grade glycerol is usually at about 70% concentration and edible glycerol is around 99%. The extra 30% of solvent =toxic

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Polymerize it with some terephthalate and put it in my printer instead.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Eyyyy love me some PETG filament

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me too I just have the tiny little overextrusion at the start. Its almost unnoticeable but its messing with any inference fit print I make.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

THIS. Don't list facts, that takes effort and won't hamme home the point of how stupid they are. Don't even do it if they ask for "proof".

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Their whole thing is to never play defense because they KNOW their point is indefensible.Question them, call them a wacko conspiracy theorist

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't be afraid: "nuritoxin" isn't a word.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know, honestly I can understand mistrust. What I can't understand is willful ignorance

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Nuritoxin"

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a scientist, listing of chemicals are completely useless without also listing the dose. Like saying a jump from any height will kill you.

4 years ago | Likes 1955 Dislikes 7

You’re not a scientist, you’re a bot.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 23

"The dosage makes the poison."

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that reminds me of my LD50 poster. illustrations on a deadly dose.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dose, solution, salt, etc. It's like saying jumping from 10m kills... even when jumping in water.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's also stupid how environmental pollution puts us into contact with damaging doses of many things, but nobody cares.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As and aluminon hat wearing weirdo we should all become mole people since the sun is killing us slowly. We could live much longer.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ingesting chlorine will kill you, ingesting sodium will kill you, put em together 50/50 and your fries taste better. Chemistry.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well akshully...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Them vaccines are POISON" *proceeds to take rip from vape pen and a swig of booze*

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, yes, the dose makes the poison.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I fell off my bed, now I'm ded.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I love you Mr scientist. ❤

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Same issue around absinthe w/ the compound thujone in wormwood. A person will die of alcohol poisoning before hallucinating.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the perfect metaphor! Thanks, I'm now going to use this when explaining things!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C Clarke. Science is witchcraft to too many ignorantpeople.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly. Good analogy.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a chemist, amen, brother!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Linear, no-threshold extrapolation is used too often and using that logic if a 10 foot fall will kill 25% of people then a one inch fall...

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

...should kill some proportional % of people and then they work out how many people per year die from one inch falls.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also, the method and location of application. Tooth paste, good for the mouth, bad to ingest.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a different kind of scientist, I’d like to see some nudes.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Say no more, i will even stop running.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it even remotely safe to fall 14 times in a row. Big stairs says this is normal but it isn’t

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It’s not the fall that kills you. It’s the whole world being shoved up your ass.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, the majority of heights you can fall from will kill you.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, a jump from any height can kill you...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

Fun fact, a jump from any hight will not kill a squirrel.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think above a certain height the hapless squirrel will perish from oxygen deprivation.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or reentry.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They can barely read, I don’t think they’re ready for numbers yet.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The difference between medicine and poison is the dose.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Circa

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everything is toxic in large enough doses. Even water.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an old person, a jump from any height will kill me... Even if I'm just playing hopscotch.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even the dose don't help, we're programmed to be wary/scared of unknown things.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So when we only hear of chemicals in a negative way, our monkey brain become wary of chemical sounding things.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love when people list what's in an apple, or when people use dihydrogen monoxide instead of water...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Best guess for yellow cake uranium? Ingested?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I learned from Witcher 3 that a jump from any height will in fact kill you so now you got me questioning my perspective on vaccines.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People can die from falling out of their bed or from chairs or tripping over their feet, so the jump thing makes more sense than this.

I remember when Fukushima happened and they did the nuclear global scare by pointing out that background levels of certain isotopes were -

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

200x normal, isotopes that were all but nonexistent in nature, and still all but nonexistent

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i remember a jeopardy contestant whose personal story was falling out of a hot air balloon & surviving "...well it was still on the ground"

4 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Excellent. I'll use that one. "well, it was after it had landed".

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Seriously, anything with enough excess will kill you. Even just drinking too much water.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

This is the biology correlate of "every machine is a smoke machine if you operate it wrong enough". I approve.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's not even that much either that can cause health issues, IIRC. It's like 1 gallon in a sitting before you're seriously at risk.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They are beyond useless, and not just because of that. It's the perfect place to inject fearmongering and even just make shit up, most ⤵

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

⤷ notably thimerosal. They lied about it being dangerous not just by omitting dose, but also by calling it just mercury. It got removed. ⤵

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

⤷ But they never stopped claiming vaccines have mercury anyway. Who'd have thought omnicidal, anti-intellectualist liars would do this?¿?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sodium and chlorine are poisonous, but your body needs NaCl to live. Just listing what's present is useless.

4 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 0

What’s even funnier, your body needs na+ and cl- to literally cause any change in fluids, literally poison that your body uses to live

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

that's more analagous to when they say vaccines contain mercury because of thimerosal

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not a good analogy at all. That's not a matter of dose, that's a matter of being wildly different substances.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

tbf, people have also pointed out the mercury in some vaccines which is, much like the chlorine in salt, in a completely safe form.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sure, but we're not talking about that, we're talking about dose, and chlorine isn't good for you in any dose.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I honestly think he thought he was flexing for knowing what elements salt is made out of

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell you can kill yourself with oxygen if you try hard enough

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Or, if nothing else kills you, chemically, oxidative stress is basically the mechanism that makes 'old age' and 'natural causes' intersect.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pure oxygen will kill you

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ozone (03) is horrible for your body

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most things are poisonous in the wrong quantities, only a few things are truly bad for you in any amount

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember a study back in the early eighties... Linking apple seed hulls to arsenic... You would have to eat a pound to notice though

4 years ago | Likes 195 Dislikes 0

Lots of seeds have cyanide in it, you would have to eat more than your belly can tqke to notice a bit tho

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can die from the radiation in bananas. If you eat a brazillion or so in one sitting

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The LDL of jumping is 6ft when upside down.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Natural medicine uses Apple seeds as a way to treat stomach worms, works surprisingly good.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Everytime I hear about a natural medicine I ask gas any drug company patebted it or otherwise sold it? If not then it's probably hogwash.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"I ask gas any drug company patebted " WHAT?!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At least ask if I am having a stroke.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're thinking of amygdalin, yes! It metabolizes to a form of cyanide and requires you to CHEW the seeds

4 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

It wasn't the seeds... It was the husks in the core that contained the seeds is how I remember

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, a handful of ground cherry seeds are enough to kill you aren't they?

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The taste is so disgusting, you would rather change your life than chewing those seeds.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Unpitted cherries in a blender for a smoothie though

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And so tough to chew.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Didn’t GI Joe have a cartoon where they directed some monstrosity to an apple orchard so the arsenic would kill it? It’s been a LONG while.

4 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

It was basically the blob, and iirc, they air dropped apples into it. Been like 30 yrs since I saw it though.

4 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

lol ... I’ll have to find it on Tubi or something. That’s where all those 80’s cartoons seem to be nowadays.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why didn't they just air drop arsenic?

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There's no time for that. It's about to head into the city!

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Part of 1/2 of the battle is fuzzy.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Who wants a body massage?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Technically, anyone that's ever come in contact with Dihydrogen monoxide has eventually died. Checkmate!!

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

That stuff is a menace, I tell you! It's responsible for so much damage, even to stone! And it's the leading cause of death by drowning.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

AAND it's the primary ingredient in pesticides!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And is used as a industrial abrasive!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's found in the tissues of people who have frozen to death, been poisoned, or even exposed to lethal radiation!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Umm. I've definitely not died yet, and I've come in contact with it. I think that you're looking for is "every dead person has come into

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Contact with DHM" or "everyone who comes into contact with DHM WILL die.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh, your time is comin'. *eventually
