It took me 3 semesters to get used to 8am classes but after that it was awesome. I love being up early. And I can drink at 3 pm

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i took a 7AM coding class. Started with 30 people ended with 6

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The rule is not to book an 8am class and then a break. If it leads right into another class its way easier to get up for

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You're right. Keeping the morning consistently productive helps with not skipping because you dozed off in that 2-3 hour gap.

I listened to the Devil once. Worked from 9pm to 1am then had an 8am Differential Equations with Linear Algebra class. It was a bad semester

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And then you'll get to work, start a 8ish, or have a child and start a 4 or 3. You'll be thankful.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Yep. I have an 8am class, and two small children. Not like I’d be sleeping anyway!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Best semester I had was classes at 8, 9, 10, and 11. Done for the day by noon.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or, at the very least, don't take a Monday 8 am. doing as late as you can class on Monday helps with hangovers and trips and crunch time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The number of college graduates who show up late for work is astounding. Learn to be early and you'll to well...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How do people consider 8 am to be early? By 8 am I've already been at work for 4 hours

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After having twelve o'clock classes for a year, I kind of welcomed the six a.m. classes because my off time was one long period.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's the voice of your counselor making sure you'll buy the course again next semester

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whenever you can, schedule on as limited days and as early as possible. Being done at 10 AM gives you all the time in the world

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a 3 hour 7:30am lab for all of my undergraduate years. It was hard 1st year, by senior year, I was still awake from studying anyways

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to arrive when ppl were exiting 7 am classes and I observed them like they were from another planet

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From my experience i will be late to the first class no matter what hour it starts also you get used to the long 4+ hours break

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some of us have to work and taking that 8am class is the only way to pack a semester's worth of classes into 3 days

8 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how most of my freshman and sophomore classes were set. Going 3 days a week was great.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Exactly! I had painting classes that were 3 hours long so it was necessary.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd schedule 8am's if necessary, because my #1 goal was always to be done at noon on Fridays

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I’ve been doing evening classes, it’s actually not been too bad.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Devoid of the reality of working a normal job?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Took a Molecular Genetics course at 8 am. I hated myself for it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

as if the 10 am classes will be any better (populated)

8 years ago | Likes 342 Dislikes 1

I have a 7am class and imo better than 8-10am. No people, close af parking. Sure I'm tired but I'm always tired so that means nothing.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Shit son I got me some night classes. Not getting me the fuck outta bed early

Hmm, Sounds like something someone who’s never gone to college would say.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I took a state mandatory class at 7 am on saturdays that had a sign in sheet. Class was a 4 hour block. That was the worst

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Change majors. They didn’t value you

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8AM???? Christ on a sidecar, I'm not even done throwing up at that hour!!!!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 3

Got thrown into a 8AM freshman year. Fucking hell never again.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Shit, I fell for it...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My advanced accounting classes in college were mainly taught by working CPA's. ALL of the classes second through fourth were first period.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I was in college my class started at 8am and went to 2-3pm but we never had anything on Friday. It was amazing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 ams are awesome, I got late classes one semester and felt like shit most of the time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have 8 am's next semester

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You get a choice of class times??!

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Undergraduate was entirely free choice in terms of the classes I picked. My first year of law school had pre-determined classes, though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes and no. Sometimes the class you must take is only offered at 8am. Music History was never offered later than 8am. Whatcha gonna do?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most colleges in America, yes. But the good class times all fill up in 20 minutes after scheduling begins.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The stress this brings back. Will you be able to take the class this semester? Will you get a good time?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I looked them all up before registration opened and directly inputted class codes in first minute to make sure

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I always took 8AM courses. Felt like 1000% less waste of time since if I wasn't there I'd be sleeping. As opposed to taking afternoon or >>

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>> evening classes where it'd be smack in the middle of the time I'm doing things, including an hour worth of driving. Fuck that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, you'll thank yourself later for learning to deal with mornings now.

8 years ago | Likes 202 Dislikes 18

Frankly, I can afford to not be on my A game at my job for the first two hours. At school, if you aren't on your A game for the first two

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hours, you fail differential equations.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did people not have to get up ridiculously early for high school? College is all about staying up late and sleeping in

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

^ That's the devil talking. Don't listen to him.

8 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 2

some people aren't good with mornings. I know what my body is accustomed to, I would absolutely bomb any class I take before 10 am.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No you won’t.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or go into academia and set your own schedule

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There're also many companies who offer own schedule

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have your entire life to get used to mornings. You only get to be in college for ~4 years, try to enjoy it as much as you can.

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 3

Taking an earlier class gives you more of the day to enjoy

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

take a later class gives you more of the night to enjoy

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

take a later class gives you more of the night to enjoy

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Or end up skipping too much and drop mid semester

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Me too thanks

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Until you graduate college and realize you can't get a job anywhere except for graveyards at a warehouse

8 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 7

If that's the only job you can get then you got the wrong degree. Sorry, but there is a HUGE shortage of workers in skilled labor fields.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish, I can only get 5am starts pls help, i've forgotten what sleep was

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. My coworker never got into the habit, always late cuz he doesnt wakeup on time. I've never overslept once. I dont even like mornings.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

So you hate mornings so much you feel the need to be conscious and awake to hate it....

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

By being awake to hate it, I can make money to pay the bills allowing me to continue to hate mornings under my own roof :p

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am the opposite of a morning person, yet I'm up every weekday taking kids to school at 730 and at work by 8. Hate it, but that's life!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup, I hate mornings but I hate traffic more. I'm at work by 7 and out by 4 just to avoid rush hour.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

haha, to live in a place where "rush hour" can be avoided by leaving as early as 7.

8 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

Right? Rush hour here is from 630-10 am, and 3-7 pm. And that's on a food day!
