Gem Club - Braid

Vocalist. Slow, darkly emotional piano accompanying harmonized vocals. There is something heartbreaking about the sound, even though I can't quite understand the lyrics. The melody is simple, captivating, passionate, full of longing.

Guided by the Stripes - Masha Qrella

Instrumental. Dark, lush electronic composition with a deep bass heartbeat you will feel in your skull. Lifted into the light here and there with almost acoustic-sounding keyboard and guitar. A river of slow syrup that sparkles.

https://youtu.be/rxvgRJbo01Q

Broken Drum (Beck) - Boards of Canada

Vocalist. If you don't like Beck, don't worry, listen anyway. This is dark head-nodding bass, a rolling beat, syrupy electronic accents, layered with melody-driven surreal vocals. Layers build into a complex surge of sound that climaxes gently, decomposes, and fades.

https://youtu.be/XYWcHb_gd0c

Ludovico Einaudi - Walk (Phaeleh Remix)

Instrumental. Emotional, deep, rolling piano sweeps you immediately into a melancholy melody sometimes sparkling with higher notes. Cello adds lush layers, building, deepening. The sound remains melancholy yet somehow trembling with tension. This version (Phaeleh) is an electronic remix with a simple beat. The original is contemporary classical, no drums. Everything by Ludovico Einaudi is worth a listen.

Framed - Trevor Ransom

Instrumental. Haunting acoustic piano introduces a drone of white noise that might be running water. The serenity is gently interrupted by quiet, nostalgic samples from an old movie. The music changes mood, turns into something yearning. The music builds into something hushed, complex, darkly layered with deep bass and electronic accents. It gently deconstructs into the soft sound of rain and an isolated beat that stops abruptly.

Johnny Belinda - Active Child

Vocalist. Dark, stormy choral opening bleeding into lush bass and bright vocals. Haunting, slow, and profoundly melancholy. This guy's singing is worthy of a cathedral. The composition brings rainstorms to mind. Enough to make a grown man choke up on feels. The lyrics aren't easy. The layers of sound are complex... surging with slow, dark energy.

https://youtu.be/L9SNJC3YcTQ

Hayling - FC Kahuna

Some vocals. Sparse bright electronic sparks in an otherwise dark and haunted theme, layered with whisper-touched vocals repeating the phrase, "Don't think about all those things you fear. Just be glad to be here." Music that will slow your heartbeat.

https://youtu.be/BUIzq-HcNPA

And We Washed Our Weapons in the Sea - Frodus

Instrumental. This band traditionally produces much harder music, but this track, this one track... is serene, hypnotic, melodic, melancholy. Layers of deep bass, simple repeating guitar melody, head-nodding rhythm. The music slowly builds to a lush finish.

https://youtu.be/mF91WTpKzAI

Max Richter - Autumn Music 2

Instrumental. Piano and strings create a painfully wistful, yearning, melancholy sound that feels almost cinematic. A captivating melody, complex composition. Tension and shadow are in this haunting piece. The definition of bittersweet.

I don't care for the term "feels". It sounds generic and unfeeling

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The power of music... it's ability to attract or repel, to inspire or to push away...

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AnCo fan i suppose ?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are we calling them AnCo now? Sounds generic and unfeeling. Great album though.

Cherry by ratata made me cry when I was on mushrooms once. It may have had to more with the mushrooms than the song though.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's a good sound, mushrooms aside.

A few of these aren't "electronic" They're just calm acoustic numbers lol

9 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 3

o lawd, this is going to upset the critical review board @Imgur so bad. big deal. It's being sold as feel music.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm really disappointed there is no Emilie Simon or Bat for Lashes or Of Montreal on here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just gave this a listen: Emilie Simon - Désert -- Nice. The sound reminded me a little of Portishead. Great recommendation.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of Montreal is dope

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Their live show is awesome. I would give it a perfect 5/7. You should go see them if you haven't.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's no Montreal show in their tour dates (ironically) but I'll definitely go when they do haha

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Alan Walker: faded (sounds like country music, but absolutely not)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Want more similar to this oneee

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Terribly cheesy both songwriting-wise and songcrafting-wise. The fact that people giving this so much praise just pissed me off

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Never heard this before. Thanks for the share.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ok, so that last one by Max Richter is not electronic at all. it's literally just strings and piano. beautiful, but not electronic lol @OP

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fair enough. Guilty. Electronica is a broad genre but not that broad, rite? Contemporary classical. It fit the "mood" so I let it stay. >_>;
