I've been on a cooking kick lately trying to make more things that I typically take the easy way out and just buy.... I'm also trying to eat less premade foods that are filled with refined sugars and preservatives so it's pretty cool to see just how easy stuff like this is to make.
Puree an onion in a food processor. Toss it in a pot on medium heat with about 2 tbsp of butter and 2 tbsp of garlic. Saute it for about 3-5 minutes.
Add 1 cup of ketchup, 1/2 cup of water, and 2 tbsp of brown sugar
2 tbsp of molasses and 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Add 1tbsp mustard, 1/2 tbsp paprika, 1/2 tbsp chili powder, 2 tsp oregano, 1 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp salte, 1/2 tsp pepper and finish with 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Simmer for 15-20 minutes and then cool for 20 off heat! Store in an air tight container!

My advice is elephant garlic. One clove is equally to 3 or 4 cloves of regular garlic. Milder and easier to peel.

I usually use pre-minced garlic

Pre-minced garlic is very bland. Get a garlic crushers if you don't like hand mincing. It's definitely worth it.

I have one, i still prefer pre-minced. I don't find the flavor to be any different
