Don't get rear ended, because that boy will be dead. If you're worry is seat damage buy a cover & harness. Also no a/c in boot for his body.

Thought he was just gonna leave him in the trunk

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I don't like this. That is not a safe place for your pupper. Harness and seatbelt please!

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Guess they don’t care about the dog in a rear end collision.

What a face!

Car boots are designed to crush and bend to protect the passengers in a seat. Harness and seatbelt your puppers please

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

we have car harnesses for our two dogs - they may not be perfect protection, but they'll keep them from getting sent 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

through the windshield or free to run in the event of an accident. that dog would get crushed if the car got rear-ended

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Real cute until you get rear ended...

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

nice smile at the end

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never seen a dog in a harness. They usually have their heads out the window or go in the back

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

We have seat belt harnesses for both of our dogs and they don't go in the car without them.

Not sure which disturbs me more; putting a large animal is small baggage trunk or OP spamming his IG

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's a good boy, but that is definitely not safe.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The trunk is a crush zone. If that car got rear ended the dog would never make it. Put then in a seat in a harness

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ohhhh that's not safe Dave

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

And how did dog figure this out???

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Teehee we used to do this with our German Shepherd.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

que bueno

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s hot the the trunk and really bumpy , poor thing

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That's insanely unsafe for your pupper

5 years ago | Likes 265 Dislikes 23

Its just a dog

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 23

Fishing for downvotes there, eh?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hey man, I generally try not to throw more negativity into the world, but fuck you.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Being in cars in general is really unsafe for them.

5 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 9

Being alive is generally unsafe for all of us

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Cars have safety cells, generally the seating area. The front, rear and sides are crumple zones. Dog is much much safer on the back seat.

Pls get harness for pupper pls I have read stories and this is such a sweet boye I don't want to imagine ok?

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

That's... A crumple zone bruh... Doggos not fam?!?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There maybe a hole where the dog can put his head through to breathe, but never put your dog in the trunk. Its totally unsafe.Groceries only

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

And dead bodies.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only groceries?? And here I was stupidly putting sports equipment and tools and other items in there too.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Haha Stuff like that too is ok. I just meant not to put live animals....or people in trunks

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unless they're dead or are going to be dead soon.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks for clarifying that point. I won't have to feel guilty now.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not only could this pup be hurt in an accident. If the drivers are both unconscious, the rescue teams might not know there is a dog.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

If the pupper is injured and silent, it could be a devastating ending. Dog in seat, in a harness seat belt.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Also, stop letting them stick their heads out the window. Way too many end up at the vets with eye or mouth injuries from flying debris.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Why the fuck are people downvoting this?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Harness clipped to the chair! He'll get tossed the fuck around the trunk in an accident

5 years ago | Likes 277 Dislikes 15

That would be best case scenario, I don't even wanna think about the other scenarios

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Most car trunks are designed to crumple so don't do this in general

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is one of those things where people don't think for themselves. The law doesn't spell it out for them and their parents didn't do it. >

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

But if you love your pet like family, why the hell would you NOT buckle them up like you would your own children?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I fly planes for a living, and people don’t even want to buckle up their own children...

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I put my children in the trunk of the car, you insensitive clod!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Buckles are not made for dogs. More than likely in an accident a belt would do more damage to a dog that good... Not to mention the people

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They have special dog seatbelt/harnesses that are crash-tested.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Regular seatbelt wouldn't work well, I agree. I was thinking of a dog harness that can be fastened to (preferably multiple) seatbelt points.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fair enough. I suppose if you travel a lot with your pets it is probably worth the investment

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do any of those work or are they just to make you feel good? Unless a dog is strapped in like a human they can still be thrown around.

5 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 2

They're better than nothing. Harness I have for my husky will let her move around some if we crash but not get tossed out a window.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Proper ones keep doggo safe. Improper ones keep you safe by keeping the doggo from become a missle.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I use a crash rated crate for my dog.https://gunner.com/products/g1-large-dog-crate

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We use https://sleepypod.com/car-harnesses they’re tested with Subaru or something

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

We got our two crash tested harnesses, pull the seat belt through the back. Keeps em in place and in one seat if we get in an accident

5 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Agreed, that's why you got to get a crash test rated one. Yes, they're still going to get knocked around, but at least they stay in the 1

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

car and don't fly forward. 2

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I'm definitely no expert on this so I'll defer to one if they comment, but I'd think the harness helps spread deceleration force and the >

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

clip will prevent them going through the windshield. With three clips that attach to the seatbelt points you'd probably get safest results?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Always thought the ''pet belt'' was to prevent them from going crazy and jumping out the window and shit

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

That's basically what they do, but I'm specifically replying to someone talking about an accident situation.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Yea I understood what you said. What o said was that I didn't think they were there in case of an incident

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically, most are designed to keep your animal from becoming a ballistic missile in the event of an accident

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We use a zip line harness for our dog. https://www.kurgo.com/dog-seat-belts/auto-zip-line-leash-zip-line-combo/

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Looks like that would do absolutely nothing in case of an accident, especially a side-hit. Good to keep the dog from roaming inside the car.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The safest method is apparently a crate, but unfortunately, space is a limiting factor there.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It stops the dog from flying forward—it’s not 100%, but it’s much better than not being harnessed at all, or in the boot.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'd rather seatbelt my dog with a harness than watch him fly through the windscreen during a crash, or get crushed in a boot

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 612 Dislikes 1

No no, no change in opinion. That dog will die in any crash. Most common of which is a rear end.

5 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 5

My thoughts exactly!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well.... that took the wind out of my sail...

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Stop this. Right now

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'll stop when people stop thinking it's cute to put living things in trunks.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Is there a meaningful difference in crash structures between a trunk and a hatchback (i.e., Would you put a dog in the back of an SUV)?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone that had their SUV get flattened up to the rear passenger seat, nope.
