yeah I have to agree with a lot of people here. Thats nice as fuck but needs to be buried somewhere so trhat in 1000+ years it is discovered and sends archaeologists down a massive hole trying to figure out what it goes to.
I was talking to a friend about a thing we're doing with CNC milling at work and she started giggling and said "It's wild that they chose to call the machine that". That's when I learned that CNC has another definition nowadays as well..... And that my friend might be a bit of a freak.
In this case, stands for Computer Numerical Control. Basically machines that use a coordinate system for moving the part or cutter around to make what ever fancy thing you've programmed.
Computer numerical control. Automated tools cutting stuff in a way programed in (though technically a lot of 3D printing is also CNC). Like a lathe or a milling machine, but with a computer driving it.
It's a machine shop for small runs and prototypes of machined parts. I've used them for sheet metal enclosures and they're reasonable, but for CNC parts (way simpler than this) they were more expensive than I expected.
Good marketing by the team behind this. Now we all know the name of a company that we didn't before, and we've been led to believe they're privately-owned, but light-hearted and fun too. Everything's an ad.
These guys are awesome. They've been my go to for short prototype runs for a few years now. And you get a piece of candy in the box when the parts arrive.
Colopty
Mildly disappointing that the inside of the thinner section doesn't have much texture.

Are you boys making an Interociter?
serously, this is great publicity. Will talk to my purchasing dept.

So this must be the part they replaced in my car, that would explain the bill

As a deburr tech, I would LOVE to work on that! The more complex, the more interesting my day is.

Well they set the go fund me to 5K so about that much
NickRivieraMD
they said they were matching 1:1 right? So 10K.
Colopty
They said the money was for bribing the director to even accept the project though, not for the actual part itself.
