I'm feeling that anxiety right now

This is the reason why I have full books I read only 90%, shows I haven't finished, and games where I haven't finished the last Quest.

Hehe.. there is a repeat button for songs now. ? ? ?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you get into 40k novels you'll never be alone again.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I never finish video games for that reason.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was actually sad after walking out of return of the king. Ah fuck, back in this world.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Your thoughts are not your enemy. Its okay to be alone with them. They are you. Take the time to contimplate why you feel that way.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We call it APD for anime (Anime post depression), and is quite common. And it hurt like hell.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm in this photo and I don't like it.

4 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

Shoot me a message, me and the majority of my friends are the same way. We've got techniques for days.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I fill my brain with BBC radio comedy on the iPlayer app. It's top notch.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

What did you just finish, @OP?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I simultaneously just finished the book Ready Player Two, caught up on 3 webtoon comics, and finished a show called The Nevers all in 1 day

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I got into modding games and also taught myself programming skills. It is a neverending hobby that you can always build more skills with.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Perhaps that could work for you too @op

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel this in my soul. Im about to finish One Piece and I have this sense of dread of not knowing what to do to keep my mind occupied after

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And yes I know the manga isn't finished I just meant what's currently out.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wish I could appreciate life instead of constantly trying to find forms of escapism.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Learn an instrument. You'll kind of never stop learning. I keeps you busy :)

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The absolute worst is when you finish a show/book and realise there is no more avail (looking at you Wheel of Time & also numerous netflix)

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Well the wheel of time ended. Wish there was more about Mat's thing but still good. New TV series coming out for it though

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I started reading it some years ago and got up to about book 7 or something and that was all that had been written. Haven't gone back to it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm afraid of that day myself, when I lose interests in my hobbies that consume my every waking unproductive minute.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Sucks going from hyperfixation to no ability to focus on anything at all. You don’t like your obsessions less, you just… enjoy them less.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

@OP Do you play games on Steam? I can toss you a game or two.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I appreciate that. I used to, but I don't find the same joy in it right now. Thanks though :)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@op next show: LETTERKENNY next books: MISTBORN Series next game: WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

but seriously I understand. there is a reason I keep watching B99 on repeat. The Office on repeat. LETTERKENNY on repeat. comfort.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Have you checked out Preacher, the graphic novel? A few other suggestions would be Scalped or Southern Bastards.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I 2nd this. Also, Sandman & Locke & Key are 2 good ones.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Podcasts help fill the gap between those things!

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Yup. That and true crime vids on YT even in the shower! Can't let those pesky thoughts in

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Any recommendations for listening to while working from home?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My listening list includes My Brother, My Brother & Me; Oh No! Ross & Carrie; Adventure Zone; Dungeon Daddies; and Red Web.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have not finished several shows due to this ... except Firefly.

4 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 0

Get a subscription to Funimation. So much good shit for quarantine entertainment.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Tubi has some pretty decent movies and tv shows for free. Just gotta deal with 2 sets of 2 minute long ‘commercials’.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No one has finished it, because it's coming back. IT'S COMING BACK GODDAMN YOU *weeps*

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tell me you’ve seen Serenity too?!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

same for games..

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Watch season 2

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

why would you say such a thing ?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should read about the plot for season 2. It is a good thing it ended.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

To soon

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Porn. It’s never ending.

4 years ago | Likes 173 Dislikes 21

Please read testimonials and interviews from former pornstars. You've likely watched rape or CP. While you may be ok w/that, some aren't.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

So you are advocating for stricter protections for sex workers?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great idea, maybe combine that with drugs. What could possibly go wrong!

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Pro tip. Start at the last page and masturbate your way into the future.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except one could argue that the destruction of interpersonal expectations created by porn could keep this person lonely longer

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cum again?

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I like on the Eric Andre show Hannibal asks Asa Akira (porn star) if we have enough porn and should we stop? She just says "No..." confused.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Mine usually end after about 28 seconds

4 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I've never seen a naked person, I dont get that far

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look at mister marathon man over here

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If it lasts more than 4 hours you should consult a physician.

4 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

*looks at jav* y-yes

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

*Looks at the compilation videos that are in a 1TB hard drive alone* yea..... that and a therapist.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Ortotherapist for that tennis elbow

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is why I read/watch/play things over and over. Finish a book series? Back to the beginning! it’s comforting

4 years ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 2

This is why I can recite Community.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This my ex hated it. I've watched the marvel movies too many times

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea, this is why I've played the entire halo series more than 50 times

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just do like me and never finish anything. Wait...

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I can't really start something over right after finishing it. So I often avoid finishing things I really like

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have this with sitcoms!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I juggle them. I’ll finish a book, move to a fresh one, then return a few months later.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*comforting

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Someone downvoted my spell correction. What’s your deal stranger? Show yourself or at least explain

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I spelled it right in the first place though ? comforting

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like I neeb ghlassed (lol jk but not really)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That doesn’t get dull after a while? Like is it a core group of confronting things or any new media that strikes you?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s a group of comfortable things, yes.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This! I've been under a lot of stress the last couple months, and I've just been cycling through my 3 favourite books over and over.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

While dual screening a game and listening ST:DS9... Really need to kill those thoughts.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What books?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Flight of Magpies by K.J Charles, Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett, and a manga, Therapy Game by Meguru Hinohara

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This - my husband doesn't understand why i re-watch or reread over and over

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I only really take comfort in rereading or watching something if I give it a few years or am showing it to someone else.

4 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

I get more sad than anxious, like something that was important to me is gone forever. And yes, I can replay or reread, but it's not the same

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Watch a series thats really long so by the time you restart you can't even remember what was happening way back then.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So like Doctor Who or One Piece?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One piece is great! I quit watching it when kaizoku fansubs quit, though. Now I don't know where I left off or where to watch it again.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Learn to meditate

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I really need to

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Start small by not taking your phone into the bathroom. Quiet time is important!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Monkey mind meditation is what I found as being the easiest method to learn. I thought I couldn't until I learned about it

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just searched that phrase bc I struggle w/meditation—do you mean the deck of cards?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

https://youtu.be/ksp3iSUDqfo - this is the video I saw that cleared it up for me. The monkey mind.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup this! It's about learning to recognise when you begin to think then go back to it, not beat yourself up when you begin to think and give

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You’re not alone! I don’t get anxiety as much about finishing a game/show/book, as much as the emptiness I feel afterwards. But I’ve (1/2)

4 years ago | Likes 430 Dislikes 1

Have you all tried helping with fixing climate change? Cause that little hobby will stave off your anxiety for quite a while

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Read Wheel of Time. That will stave it off for a long while.

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Or Game of Thrones.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did it ever get finished?

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It did

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I've had severe depression since I was in my early teens and I just wish I could finish a favorite game before giving up... I love them so

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I haven't finished the Witcher. I've never loved a game so much. It's been so long I might as well restart it lol...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Much but I can't seem to finish them.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Same here with the depression and love for video games, but now even gaming feels like a chore.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

IMO, that sounds slightly closer to adhd. Especially if you want to finish them

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My family has a history of adhd... I've always wondered if I was misdiagnosed.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ADHD and depression often go hand in hand. I sometimes wonder if having ADHD would have been any easier before modern society.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2/2) Seemingly found a solution…. Juggle a couple games and a show all at once. Add more if needed. That way you’re already moved on sorta

4 years ago | Likes 196 Dislikes 1

Try writing your demon thoughts in a diary journal ! And don't forget to add a lock on the journal so they don't escape at night.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oof. This might explain why I so infrequently watch the last season/half, etc, of a series I'm otherwise watching all the episodes of.

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I mean, you don't HAVE to finish consuming something to have enjoyed it. As long as you enjoyed the time you spent watching/playing.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And why I never finish video games. I'll obsessively complete everything until I sense the end coming.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yes, I had a horrible experience once where I left a game I kinda liked once near what I thought was the middle because I wanted to enjoy 1/

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It later, but it ended up being right near the end, so instead of another fun half of a game it was just like 7 minutes of sadness.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

same with the emptiness. esp since i have a compulsion for very long media (Wheel of time, Supernatural, etc.) the emptiness sucks. i’ve>

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

caught myself stopping 2-3 eps (or chapters or whatever) away from the end and doing something else for months and months to avoid it. i’ll>

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

try your trick, might help.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Good management tip. But I think it should also be said that having to be constantly absorbed in something to avoid your thoughts...

4 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 3

...isn't healthy and needs addressing with therapy or at least self-reflection. Bandaiding is only good temporarily.

To be fair, it may not be trauma. The world is a concerning garbage fire. I have 3 screens.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Video game, streaming service, and imgur. I hide 2 hours at the end of each day to stop thinking about the smell.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well these bandaids have been holding up for a good 10 years now, I've left them too long and they've grow in.....

Hey man, the world is dieing due to greed I can't stop. I think I'll stay in my mind thanks

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

That's perfectly fine. It's trying to constantly escape from your mind that leads to problems.
