It’s a subgenre of dubstep (very generously) called Riddim. Emphasis on “headbanging”, and tries (read: fails) to be hard/metal, etc. Trash.

Some dubstep is good on headphones. I would say the genre is built for concerts. The bass is so good and the visuals are great usually.

Dubstep has actually really evolved into more melodic tracks and the kind in the video. Even with the heavy stuff it's fun live.

It's hard to explain. Most people only know the wubwub part of dubstep but that's not even what makes the genre. The half-speed does.

There's a few dubstep songs that don't even have the wubwub, or only a short section of it. It's a gimmick like a guitar solo.
