Back in 2010 I fell into a deep dark hole. The camera helped me in many ways. I could go outside, and focus on just being in that very moment. For as soon as my mind slipped, the animals noticed me and scattered. Kept my mind sane for a few a hours.
I slowly got better.
Turned 30. Built a hideout and got close to birds of prey. Went to Iceland as its been -one- of my lifelong dreams.
Then the camera broke, and with two big dreams already fulfilled, the energy to be in that moment ceased to exist, and I still havn't fixed it.
2016 wasn't a good year for me (niether), and I'm starting 2017 by feeling slightly sadder than I should.
Like breathing but the air doesn't go all the way down.
These pictures represents my window to happiness.

A pro photographer I know has many colleagues that just use their iPhones. Its more about composition and lighting than gear.

Oh I'm all about that for sure! But a 500 2.8 and a pro dslr does help a lot in nature photography :p

I always felt that if ppl want to steal it, the watermarks wont stop them. Might do a subtle one instead.. hmm

Hard use of being outdoors. Some dust/salt water and then a drop killed it.. :/ i want to be out there but its hard you know.

Yes. Weather resistant cameras are expensive. Is there a Craigslist where you are? Maybe you can find a decent used one.
