I solemnly swear to make your life a living hell

Whenever I go to a McDonald's the ice cream machine is always fixed. Working. Wtf are you talking about????

My Girlfriend used to work at Maccies, she backs this up.

looks Xcom2ish from the loading screens

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And give you exactly 2 packs of salt for your entire crew

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never a problem for me. Straws are at a self-service desk with napkins. The icecream machine... once out-of-order because it got refilled.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Third mall from the sun!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sometimes I think they're fucking with me. I always order whatever with no tomatoes/cheese, but sometimes there's extra

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eating at Micky Ds is like buying an EA game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn it Tracy, your mother raised you better than that

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They never give me enough fucking ketchup...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wheres the pic for taco bell, their frozen baja machine is always down for some stupid reason.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm beginning to think my McDonalds must be on point because the ice cream machine always works

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fucking Tracy

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The one by me in Brooklyn NEVER has Diet Coke. Ever. I have never successfully purchased one there in 2 years of being in this neighborhood.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From this day, till my last day

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

For how little they're paid and how customers treat them, I wouldn't give a fuck as a McD employee either.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Meh, I've stopped going to McD's for ice cream, it's always broken whenever I go. I'll hit up braum's or sonic down the street.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In Denmark you have to get your own straws

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fixing icecream machine is not part of their job, whoever installed/services it is in charge of it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You should credit the artist @OP, his name is Chris Woods.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

On the off chance it IS working and I'm in the drive-thu could you wipe off the extra ice cream you drizzled down the outside of the cup!?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your life is a living hell when they forget a straw in your order? I mean, just drink, like from a regular cup.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never forget, if a fast food restaurant messes up your order once you can bitch about them forever. Mistakes happen. Get over it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

If a McDonald's worker can make your life a living hell you might have issues before you walk through those doors just saying

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 2

You’ve never been threatened while waiting in the drive thru since staff fucked everything up & took 40min? I have by 1 car behind me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mcdonalds workers never want to make your life hell, because then you yell at them and it's a pain in the arse. trust. me.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

For customer service in general, it's usually the other way around. Customers make the employees lives miserable.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ordered root beer, got lemonade. You know what it feels like to take a big swig, expecting root beer and getting sour lemonade???

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a brit, why the FUCK would any sentient creature willingly subject themselves to root beer? Shit tastes exactly like Corsodyl mouthwash.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like it!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so does my girlfriend.. i think she's an alien.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Worst thing MD has ever done to me is forget NO CHEESE. But that's minor, one time Taco Bell forgot to give me my soda. I didn't realize

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Until I was half way home, so that's half on me. Dangit

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Having worked in similar places, I can at times understand forgetting to hand out a drink. Dozens of near-identical orders in busy (1)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

periods can do that. Forgetting to ask for your drink, though? That's always been a mystery to me.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They always give you your drink before you even pay. You pull to the window, they give you your drink, you hand them your card, then they

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

give your card back then give you your food. This time they handed me my food, took my card, then gave my card back. Completely out of order

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ice cream machine is always down because it takes like 5 hours to sterilize everything everyday. UNLESS, you want diseases....ecoli and such

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 4

Two ice cream machines on a rotational basis? McFlurries can stop homicides.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The employees at McDonald’s can’t fix the machine. They have mechanics for that. If the thing breaks, it may be down for days.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never once been unable to get a shake at BK, mcdonalds is at least 1/3 of the time it's down.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I highly discourage BK shakes. I am love milk shakes so I try it at every place possible. BK has one of the worst ones.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Or... have two sets of parts, swap one in while the other is being cleaned. Or fuck, just bring in an entire separate machine. God knows the

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

price doesn't cover it but for the profit margins they've got and the alleged pride they take in the operation they can do it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can't reason with the type of people who eat McDonald's on the regular

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 4

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also it runs 24/7 so it does break down.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Two machines = double the $ spent on ice cream / repairs for one single McDonald’s location and you need extra space in-store for that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let me tell you from experience, nobody got room for that.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I second that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then you have a flawed system since you're losing sales. Have 2 separate machines so they can be sterilized separately.Or reduce cycle time.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

They're supposed to be cleaned at the end of the night, and it really only takes like an hour, but the night people always are "too busy"

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Worked closing/thirds at McDs, we get other third shift workers. As well a list of cleaning that has to be done on top of customers.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Night shift person- keep your same customer to employee rate but here's a list of stuff that will take 4 hours. also no break.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can’t expect your closing shift to break it down to soak overnight or anything. Wouldn’t want them to have responsibilities for that $15/hr.

Cost of living is so high a pay wage increase would have little effect in this. Things balance out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not what economic studies have shown. The costs of goods rises at a much lower rate than wages.

It has worked, though, in cities that raised the minimum wage. http://voxeu.org/article/minimum-wage-increases-and-earnings-low-wage-jobs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Is the ice cream machine thing a running joke or is it genuinely always broken in other countries? I've never seen one break in England.

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

It breaks so often that I gave up on my life for McFlurries because I only got it 10% of the time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our machine goes in to an automated self cleaning state at 2am and isn't able to serve until 11am and it get cleaned manually once a week

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wondered that too, like McFlurrys are one of the most sold things?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

This has only happened to me like twice in my life.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not broken, they just have to clean it after a certain time at night and if they run it again they must reclean it. Just laziness

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When i worked at mc ds long time ago ours always ran, but it was a private owned resturant not corp.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read somewhere recently that there's an app now where you can see if the ice cream machine really is broken. Don't know what it's called

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Most of the time it gets closed and cleaned a few hours before shift ends. So staff get away earlier.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's on a timer that we have no control over, usually goes down about 1-2 in the morning

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was in the UK a few years ago. Before the newer machines and 24 hour stores. Timers a good idea though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not broken it just automatically goes into heat treat to kill bacteria. If they tries serving you it, it would be like hot milk lava

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Add some fudge to that and we have ourselves a deal

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our machine heat treated at night. But we were not open at night and you might not get ice cream at night.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I go to my local McDonalds every now and then, and I've definitely seen the ice-cream-machine-is-broken sign a few times

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Expensive to replace so they run them as long as they can.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They honestly never clean it so it breaks down frequently. It’s a blessing since I got a bad bacteria from it once. Sick for 2 weeks

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Machine i had in my place didn't work if it was not cleaned in 2weeks. And that's twice as often as required.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where I work, nobody on grill duty wanted to clean it for a week, so we turned it on one morning, put a burger on it, and flames...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One time I ordered a chocolate milkshake and I think they barely cleaned it because it tasted like bleach

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah i work in maccies and this thing is a $15k piece of shit

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

As someone who also works at McDonalds it really isn't a meme. The fucking thing breaks down at least once every two days or so.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Australia?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't know... we say Macca's, I've never heard Maccies before.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Has to be. Any other English speaking country just calls it its ACTUAL NAME AUSTRALIA! JEEZ...

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

"Broken" or "down" is what they tell us when they don't feel like recleaning it later, so it just doesn't get used. And it happens OFTEN!

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 4

Depending on the place. I had morning shift to clean it every 2weeks and if it went down i would be called to fix if i didn't have a shift.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Two weeks? We have eight machines at my work and we clean two every day

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Full clean? When you take out all the mass and parts and wash them? Maybe it's about volumes or do they heat up in regular cycle?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Take them apart entirely and wash them. They hold 5 gallons each. Takes two hours every morning. I kinda hate it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
