Which part today flies the confederate flag. It's not that hard to see where things lay.

My uncle would say that, "democrats started slavery" like it waves a magic wand and excuses all the horrible things republicans are doing right now. Then he ignores the fact that republicans are literally trying to bring back slavery and every other horrid ism from olden times

As if he'd even recognize half of his kids let alone be competent to assist with homework to anyone above 2nd grade.

Donald Trump's dad and Donald Trump too wouldn't have rented to this guy if not for the ACLU

Nick Cannon: Definitely in the Epstien Files.

"People don't know" (thing everyone knows)

1 day ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Guess ol' Nick doesn't know Trump's Daddy ran w the KKK. There are pics! And both Trumps refused to rent their properties to blacks in NY. Black people in America who support T really need to get their heads on straight. He is the biggest RACIST around!!!!

so then hypothetically if i changed my name to albert einstein i would get credit for what he did? just because there was a thing in the past called the same name as a thing now doesn't mean they are the same thing. FFFS. LOOK. LISTEN. THINK.

The party is opposed to any change in our naturalization laws or any state legislation by which the rights of citizens hitherto accorded to immigrants from foreign lands shall be abridged or impaired; and in favor of giving a full and efficient protection to the rights of all classes of citizens, whether native or naturalized, both at home and abroad.

Liberal insanity? No, the 1860 republican official platform position.

People don't know this, people don't know that. Meanwhile, you don't know a damned thing yourself.

Someone ought to tell this republican trump sucking bitch that he is actually a democrat.

Yeah, former Confederates created the Ku Klux Klan and their first Grand Wizard, Nathan Bedford Forrest along with several of his supporters infiltrated the 1868 Democratic Primary convention and swayed it's platform to focus on white supremacy and that the US was a "White Man's Country."

But, that Ku Klux Klan died out by 1874 thanks to the efforts of the Grant Administration. The 2nd Klan, which arose in 1915, was a completely different beast and not centered around a specific party.

16 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was still a white supremacist organization, but it completely discarded the Anti-Union, Anti-Republican stance of it's predecessor. Instead, it was a firmly nationalist entity that promoted "America First," and that the US was a country solely for white, Christian Protestants, and that Catholics, Jews, People of Color, Immigrants, Socialists, and Feminism were threats that had to be stopped.

Guy who attended Diddy parties until 2022, sides with sex offenders. Shocking...

So he got ousted as a POS and IMMEDIATELY went into “pander to dumb racists” mode. Gotta at least give him this: it’s tried-and-true.

Annnnd THIS, is why we teach American history! The Republicans hate it for a reason.

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If you have to reach back 150+ years for something good, your party is a piece of shit.

1 day ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Couldn't figure out how to make a "the 90s were 20 years ago" joke out of this

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This. Also when someone pulls this I reply, Awesome! so we both support liberal ideals and condemn right wing policies.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And Nick Cannon doesn't know US history.

Shocking.

You should look up when he was saying something intellectually cogent while quoting and cosplaying, louis farrakhan. I think it was in his own podcast.

1 day ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Not even history, did he forget that the democrats are the ones that voted in the first black president, twice?

1 day ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

And that the Republicans have now elected the guy who was leading the racist "Birther" movement against him? And who has removed DEI programs from the govt? And removed black and female historical figures from govt websites? How dumb do you have to be to think they're the "good guys" because of something a party with the same name did over 150 years ago??

Wow that’s some wild cherry picking

1 day ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

yea so cherry picked I can keep citing examples: https://www.quorum.us/data-driven-insights/may-2018-congressional-activity-report/ that's a report on the Democrats having been voting for what Trump wanted in 2018 more than they voted for what Dubya wanted after 9/11, when it was political suicide to oppose his policies.

There's a quick comeback to this: "If you took a Klan member from 1950 and brought him forward to today, which party would he join?"

1 day ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 1

Hey, easy there, we have enough problems with Nazis now.

22 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How many klan members do you think voted for Kamala?

18 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The KKK was a multi level marketing scam too, so he’d be part of the grift: trump

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

David Duke and the KKK newspaper both endorsed Trump. But I'm sure that's concidence.

1 day ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

We don't have to time travel, the current KKK supports Republicans.

23 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

lol, so true.

19 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Historically true, as Lincoln was a Republican. And yes, the KKK were all Dixiecrats, right up until President Lyndon B Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. Then they all bailed to the other party in a blind rage.

Was Nick Cannon even born yet when the Dixiecrats went Republican? Yeah I seriously doubt it. So unless he's over 60, all his entire life, the KKK have been Republicans meaning he's just full of fucking shit.

1 day ago | Likes 332 Dislikes 4

Nick Cannon? Full of shit? Preposterous.

19 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

David Duke, former Grand Wizard of the KKK, ran in the presidential primary in 1988 and his best showing was 2% of the vote, so he switched affiliations to the GOP afterwards. That's about all you need to know.

21 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You can thank Strom Thurmond for migrating the Dixiecrats to the republican party.

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

We're the Republicans at that time right or left?

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

The question doesn't really make sense because the points of contention weren't similar enough. Free Market capitalists and fundamentalist Christians weren't always hand in hand. It wasn't even rural v city. It was more rich v poor than it is now in the narrative.

1 day ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Somewhat progressive during Lincoln time, but started to go heavily "conservative" through the mid 20th century until now. Key points of reference would be the Civil Rights movement, Nixon, Reagan, during the Clinton administration up through his impeachment and the 2000 election, escalating through the 9/11 attacks and subsequent associated wars, and extremely off the rails when we decided to elect a black man.

1 day ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

Worth noting that at the time of Lincolns election they were less than a decade old and had only contested one previous election.

23 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

"The shift in ideology between the Democratic and Republican parties was not an overnight event, but rather a gradual transition that occurred over the mid-20th century, largely starting with the New Deal era in the 1930s. It was cemented by the 1960s civil rights movement, with ideological realignment finalizing by the late 20th century."

1 day ago | Likes 585 Dislikes 4

A lot of people do associate it with a sudden switch after Johnson signed the Civil Rights Bill, though

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This. It was not a "switch", the parties didn't just wake up one morning and decide to turn their ideologies on their respective heads, it was decades of gradually drifting to one far wing of their own party (Democrats went left, so Republicans went right) because that was what helps win elections and hold power in a fractured two-party "first past the post" electoral system as the older systems of more geographic ideology (North vs South) began to lose relevance.

1 day ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

It takes like... 2 seconds to look up a map of Democrats at that time.

Yes, the party was the Democrats at that time, but they were also in the same states the Republicans are now. The name changed, but the people remain the same.

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

But if you had to put a year on it, Civil rights act driving the white supremacists into one party in 1964.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically, people were kicked out of THEIR OWN PARTY, switched sides, and over the slow decay of time, things are right beck to where they were, except with different names.

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Always mention Storm Thurman and the Southern Strategy

19 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Two words: southern strategy. Nixon started the shift

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Cannon's basic claim here exploits nominal continuity (same party names) while ignoring ideological discontinuity. It's the equivalent of saying today's Democrats deserve credit for FDR's New Deal regardless of how much the party has changed. This leverages the same deep intellectual dishonesty we can expect from this type of regurgitated ruling class propaganda. It uses emotionally potent, selectively true statements bypassing critical reasoning to produce a false overall impression.. Shameful.

1 day ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

Just what I'd expect from the Party of Theseus.

People don’t seem to be taught about the party switch. If people learn about the party switch they need to be taught about the values of each party before and after the switch also

1 day ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 0

I think it’s taught in school. I was taught it. If not, pretty available information.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its taught, its just not absorbed.

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure they're just pretending they don't know about it

1 day ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I was taught about the shift in school (briefly touched upon during middle school and then elaborated on in high school during US History), but then again, I went to school in CA. I imagine that certain moments of history are glossed over or ignored in the states that don't put as much value in education, and even then, there are some kids who just don't pay attention even if they are taught, and then say they were never taught certain things in school.

1 day ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

No school I went to spent more than a week on anything more recent than WWII. Cowards were unwilling to teach "current events."

1 day ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Even if you tell them, I've been told it's fake news.

1 day ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

That is actually a thing I’ve encountered online & in the news. I forget who exactly but they argued that if such a switch happened why isn’t it taught in schools and asked why it would’ve happened.

1 day ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Even if it was they probably would deny it

1 day ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

didn't the Epstein file emails reveal that all of the US school textbook companies were owned by ghilsains Maxwell's father..?

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because Strom Fucking Thurmond was still goddam alive, that's why it wasn't taught in schools. Now that the fucker is finally dead maybe we can update a textbook. Fucking POSTER CHILD for the ideological switch. And anybody who claims not to know that - go ask mommy and daddy, they fucking knew it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strom_Thurmond

Typical revisionist leftist

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 65

Okay, here's an easy question: Why are all the democrats the ones trying to remove the names and faces of confederate traitors from public spaces? Why remove statues and base names etc all if they're heroes to leftists?

Or are you gonna admit the people waving confederate traitor flags and fighting to keep confederate traitors in places of honor are conservatives?

Gtfo with this weak ragebait bullshit.
