SNESES (SNES Emulation Station)

So I built a SNES Emulation PC

One dead SNES, basically I cleaned it out, the slot, and the Cart connector, and still got nowhere. So I decided to maul the little beast into a mini dedicated

From there, I took apart an Acer B113 Netbook, and laid it on top of the SNES to get a basic understanding of how I might mount it.

never taken apart a SNES, you’d find out that they use a proprietary screw, so the best (and cheapest) way I’ve found to get these out with out forking over like, $3 for a bit, is to melt the end of a Pen casing (take the ink out) then press it down onto the screw for about 15 seconds (until its cool and hard) and, then, boom. You gotta screw removal tool.

remove the dead logic board.
And trim the plastic mounts down level.

An initial mounting of the board.

A front shot of usb and front audio. I think I'll cover the audio... Looks shit. Also future plans to use a usb to snes converter to use real snes controllers...

Laying the wifi antenna. Also has Bluetooth.

Hard drive mounted

Getting all setup.

I chose emulation station for my software. For its clean looks and easy navigation.

ZSnes is the emulator. Reason I can map one key to exit the emulator back to ES. I use Joy2key to map a button combo ((Start + L) to the exit key.
Making a keyboard redundant.

The literal test drive.

5 minutes! You clearly aren't from Australia.

Being zsnes, my emulator of choice, is only a few Mb, it took about 5 minutes to download and set it up...

3 years ago, I only had about 50 games, and half of those were my wife's. Now we have 546, collectively.
