This is most likely the right answer. I would assume it is located higher up on the wall for a wall mounted tv.

Looks like an old rotor antenna connection. They were fairly common in the 1970s
if a house had a TV antenna on the roof, often it was wired into the house to outlets like this to connect to the TV(s)
