A player of mine jumped off a cliff, grabbed a harpy, and power bombed her into the plateau below. I love D&D stories.

Our DM once had a spring-loaded trap. That launched a Juggernaut at us. An entire Juggernaut.

Got hit in the face with a Juggernaut, basically

This is the best dump ever... Thank you!

Inspiration while I prepare for an elaborate palace infiltration/boss fight this Friday, where I ask myself the perennial GM question: 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

What the fuck was I thinking making this so complicated? 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

And then the question 4 hours later: How the fuck did they do it so fast?

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

They just IGNORED every line the DM wrote.

#3 so what does the device do? if he is TRULY mad it is an automatic banana peeler

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

One of the pathfinder APs has a BBEG who imprisoned 2 pit fiends (Super-powerful devils) to open and close the sluice gates on a dam.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nonsense. Obviously it's a spoon sharpener. Cuz who doesn't need a spoon sharpener?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but spoons are dull, they will hurt more! that is the POINT! (or is that how he got those scars?)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahh, but a sharp spoon will scoop faster! Relatively sure if you scoop flesh out, it'll hurt like the Dickens.

That last one...

Nice, I just started watching Critical Role a few days ago and currently in the middle of Episode 4! It's going to be a long trip.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I should also add that I know next to nothing about D&D, but it is very fun and informative!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Keep in mind they homebrew a lot and they just changed over from pathfinder at the start. Take their rules with a grain of salt not as law

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no idea what any words in your comment mean.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's how I got into D&D, you pick up many of the rules along the way.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anything DnD makes me happy, but didn't the internet decide a while back that Demotivational Posters aren't funny?

#6 I have never in my life met a DM who handed out exp without careful planning to make sure levels fit their campaign.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I preferred to let the story evolve around the players. Plus, since they initially didn't roleplay at all, I started awarding exp for it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#8 Ah, the memories of my childhood... ^_^

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This one is so true...

a 10 round war between an army of underdark minions and 5 PCs took 7 hours to work out. :) Best night ever. AKA the minute war.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We focus on the fun stuff. Walking? Not fun. Fighting dragons? Fun!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

True but it can be a pain when combat goes on forever.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3 hours for 50 rounds? Pretty quick.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

50 round combat must be some epic encounter. It'd be cool to hear about it, though much abridged, I'd hope.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It can be very uncool aswell. Like fighting in 0 gravity breathable anti magic-zone plasma. Just rolls with heavy negatives.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would not want to play in a game where that's the only way to fight the big bad, I think. Unless it was the leadup to an epic final fight.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My party fought something like #14 just the week before last. It was an elemental catastrophe that chose to shape itself like a dragon.

Mr. Rogers with D&D is the real shenanigan. Then again, he’d be a good neighbor, and probably make believe it was fun with all the nonsense.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You know his adventure would have some cheesy moral at the end, but you'd never see it coming... and you'd cry when it does.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looking at those pictures I take it Tibereous comes back at some point. I feel like he would be helpful with those Dragons

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Im not going to spoil it for you, so I suggest you never check the replies to this comment ever again so it isnt spoiled for you.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He doesn't and it's been stated that Orion never will. Some of those are older pictures.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#1 are there any famous actors that are in to DnD? I imagine it would be a joy to RP with some of them.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's a group of voice actors who get together every week to play -- and they stream it. https://geekandsundry.com/shows/critical-role/

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel like DnD with Mr Rogers as the DM would probably be the most amazing game ever played.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Only one i can think of off the top of my head is Vin Diesel. Though I'm sure there are many more.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Dame Judi Dench too! Diesel got her to play it at one point. She rolled a barbarian, and GMs for her grandkids occasionally now

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and then it just devolves into critical role

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 9

Evolves*

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 4

In this case, definitely devices.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Dammit. I even typed on devolves and it still corrected it. I shouldn't use predictive text - but I'm lazy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Strongly disagree.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 9

Purely curious, what are your reasons?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's the guy in #5 who traded his soul for power.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I love that critical role has been gaining some popularity on here!

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Whats critical role?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's a show where a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors sit around and play D&D. Also Matt Mercer who voices McCree is the DM. Best DM I've seen

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Consider checking out the Critical Hit podcast. I'd take Lopez over Mercer any day. (It IS 4e though, so YMMV.)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What do you have against critical role?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

oh not a thing i love it, but there is so much more to D&D than a single Online webshow that's been blown out of proportions.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

Fair enough, I'm new to it and am enjoying the shit out of it is all. So I was curious.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I like Critical Role, but I think a lot of new players are getting into DnD with unrealistic expectations. Mercer is not an average DM.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I always wanted to play d &d =(

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Do it!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No one to play with :( I tried buying risk on psn but it's not the same as real life and in worried it will be same

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This might help you find a group: https://www.rpgtablefinder.com/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lots of people on roll20 and reddit lfg looking for people. If you can’t play in person, online is a fair substitute
