After tearing my ACL twice, doctors were saying I wouldn't run again. 1 year on and I hit a new personal record. 2.4km in 09:35.

Solid time, OP. Your time kicks the shit outta mine.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks. All it takes is just a bit of training! Take it step by step and you'll get there soon

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

doctors probably told you you shouldn't run again.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nah they were self serving dicks and straight up said that. Never believed them from day 1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How I feel when I start running.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good job, mate! My personal record in Cooper test is 12 minutes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice!! Was there only 6 months ago. Take it week by week and if you want to you can get there in no time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Congrats! I have torn my left ACL twice and my right ACL once, and I have come back strong after all three!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Looks like you’re not running

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I also was an athlete who tore their ACL twice and was told that running is a big no no... guess who still doesn’t run?!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hint hint: It’s me. I’m a lazy gal.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Come on! More pics of very hot @OP!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think he fell

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty much. Crumbled as soon as i crossed the finish line

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm proud OP but not entirely convinced any doc worth their salt would say you'd never run again. Ppl tear acls all the time

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Two time tear on same knee, with minor MCL and PCL tears as well. Agreed the doc wasnt worth his salt and never believed him from day one.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Did he say "wouldn't" or "shouldn't" because that's a big difference.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After tearing your ACL twice it's probably a good idea to at least cut back once fully healed. Learn form your injuries, don't repeat them.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Agreed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

doctors said you would never run again ? I tore mine twice aswell i just started playing soccer again

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nice man. There was more to it, mentioned before, but never believed them from day one. Dont think they were very good at their job.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh well, congratz on your recovery :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you can run again it sounds like they are. Also imagine the outcome if they said you will run again but turns out you don't.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice legs !

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I tore mine too. Slowly trying to get back into it, but the possibility of a re tear scares the piss out of me.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ditto, never want to go thru it again

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How long into recovery did you start running again, if you don't mind me asking?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry, notification just showed up. Once I hit 6 months, I had to pass a one leg hop test. Bad leg has to get 90% off distance you can get

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On your good leg. I got close enough to get cleared at 7 months, but at 9 I’m just now able to do it. I can do 3 miles but have pain

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On anything over a half mile. Hopefully it keeps getting better/easier.

Tore my ACL this year (few months ago). I really want to get back to playing soccer. Thanks for the motivation along the way!

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I'm about 18 months out of surgery and started playing soccer normally again after about 10 months. Don't come back to early. You got this!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too. Got surgery in April, definitely still recovering but I just ran 3 miles!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same! Im a stunt performer and tore my acl earlier in the year. Im nervous about getting back to work but also excited

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(2/2) I can run but still avoiding active sports for at least 6 months. Need to build more strength and confidence above all.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

(1/2) You absolutely can. Put in as many hours into recovery as possible and above all- dont rush the process.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah but be safe ...and few mths ago- I think you need some recovery time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you have a cadaver ACL or a repair with your hamstring?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With my hamstring. Risk of rejection was a fear. Also it creeped me out having someone elses ligament in my body

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We had one patient that did the cadaver option, it failed in less than 2 months ( even with PT ) and he had a revision. How is yours healing?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My ex had his reconstructed with his hamstring and healed amazingly well! I hope you have similar results!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tore my ACL March 2016. OP June 2016. Back playing Rugby. You can do it! Most important advice: DO EVERYTHING YOUR PHYSIO TELLS YOU TO DO!

Can you hook a guy up with some Nike Free 3.0 shoes? These things are goddamn fantastic, but I'm wearing my pair out and I can't find more.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry friend, as far as I know those aren't produced anymore. Closest you'll find are the Nike Versatility trainer or the Free TR7.

Knee surgery last December. Just hit 375lbs on my deadlift and going for a PR of 400 before the year ends. Keep it up OP!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Thats awesome man!! Best of luck for 400. You got this ????

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you!!! Never stop improving

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell yes!!! Hitting 295 lbs after knee surgery ( years ago, never healed well) was such an accomplishment as well. But now I have a torn 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2/2 rotator cuff and labrem and can't lift anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't have a rotator cuff tear, but I had to have my labrum sewn back together. Great results. Surgery feasible for you?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They won't operate,I need my capsules anchored as well, and I'm naturally hyper flexible so they think the anchors would fail within 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/? A year and I'd have a revision. I've seen about 6 Drs, including 2 surgeons, and 2 PTs, everyone says I need surgery, no one will do

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh shit, that's awful. Sorry to hear all of that.
