Whelp looks like I just adopted a dog.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good video, but am I the only one who hates when these videos are annotated like this?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

PSA: Secondary/Delayed drowning is a thing. If a drowning occurs and the person/animal is saved, get them medical attention ASAP.

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

question, do animals suffer brain damage the same way? not breathing affects brain function in a major way, esp in babies. are dogs the same

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes absolutely! Any person that is without oxygen for too long can become damaged.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good old bodily functions. "Oh shit, i almost drowned! Better fill my lungs with water now that i'm safe!"

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

So fuckin weird.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'll take him....I want him....GIVE HIM TO ME!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thank food he had time to get his phone out

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That's the main thing that makes my cold, dead heart believe someone set this up to get a heroic video. I really hope it's not true.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

GoPro? He uses both hands at least.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How can you do that and not put the puppy in your jacket to keep it warm?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The optimist inside me says it makes it harder to monitor its status. The pessimist inside me says it's harder to get a good video like that

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Faith in humanity restored... Until you find out he drowned it so that he could resuscitate it...

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I hope the pup will be big and strong soon and has a good life, great work.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

God has a place for you - you are awesome

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

Amazing, despite the man's choice in footwear.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

The pup was grateful. A little stupider, but grateful to be alive. Oxygen, you know.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I need more info - did he take it to the vet? Its tiny, it needs formula? WTF HAPPENED NEXT? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Catch & release, he did this 6 more times until the game warden left the area.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

The puppy grew up to be Brendan Fraser

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 3

And Brendan Fraser's real name? Albert Einstein.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Like most good fisherman, he weighed it and threw it back in

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I need more info too. Its tiny what needs formula?

I don't think crocs are spelled with a k

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

They are if you’re talking ceramics

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oops

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Don't be sad!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This was incredible. The enginutiy and obvious care he paid to this little weak thing. Bravo sir.

8 years ago | Likes 947 Dislikes 3

And a steady camera on hand and ready to film the wole thing. I hope to god this isn't staged

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I imagine the camera is a GoPro attached to their head, videotaping their outing.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I can’t even begin to imagine being this useful to anyone

8 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 3

If presented with the same issue you'd be surprised what compassion will make you do, that you'd no idea before hand.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think he was talking about macgyvering a cpr bottle lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"I like you hooman"

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

To CPR a dog hold its mouth closed and breathe into its nose. For very young puppies just blow into their nose, watch for their chest rising

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Sure, but you gotta admit the improv' mask was classy =)

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'd rather the dude did the CPR than spend 2 minutes mucking around making a mask tbh. I also figured people should know how to do it right.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

granted. Maybe he didn't know what we do and wasn't confident he could usefully get any air in the doge without it.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes. Which is why I made a comment telling people how to do it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

the other person present probably made that while the other did cpr and cleared the airway

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Did he...did he .. you know..... drown it himself then resuscitate it. Or have i looked into the abyss too long

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 5

Even if that were the case, the dog would forgive him.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It certainly was pretty handy that he happened to be recording it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That was my first thought. People do some pretty twisted stuff, these days.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

recording, handy broken half of a plastic bottle - you have to wonder

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

(Place) woman/man uses cpr to save drowning (animal) is one of the most common news/youtube stories I've seen lately... never know...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How do people always have headcams when giving cpr to animals?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

This was my question!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is the times we see it. It is rather unlikely that people get good shots without one.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think we can all agree that this changes our view on people that wear Crocs, at least slightly.

8 years ago | Likes 2580 Dislikes 7

No, doesn't.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Somebody... somebody reverse the video...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Apparently doctors and nurses wear crocs pretty often cos they're easy to clean and comfy. Just put something water proof under them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Docs wear Crocs.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Maybe... A little... Damnit I'm so conflicted now about them. 1 of them saved a puppy!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right after I read this comment I laughed and slammed my laptop shut. Its been like half an hour.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In situations where you expect your feet to get wet and want them able to drain, crocs are fine. It's any other time they suck

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Name a better shoe for gardening.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My first thought too. If this hero can wear them..

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you. Came here to say this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Vet nurse here. Used to wear casual shoes at work till I bought some crocs. They are the comfiest shoes in the world I tell you

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I still don’t trust them, this video was probably in reverse!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

no

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

As someone who used to hate crocs with a passion, then one day jumped into a pair in a hurry.. have you worn those clouds of heaven????

8 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

Mine are a little uncomfortable, they rub a lot. But theyre awesome for being in water or gardening etc so practical

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Love mine! Got a winter pair with a lining in them. So comfy!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same here ! They don't know what they miss...

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I never thought I'd be pro- crocs!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Me neither ! And I discovered it's silent ! Very important when kids run all day in a house with wood floor ! No more taptaptap pure bliss

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A puppy that young doesn't just wind up drowning, it was deliberate. God I hope it wasn't the camera man doing it for the setup for likes...

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 5

What about his siblings...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I felt terrible for thinking it too, but I just don't put it past people anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

THIS!! Omg I want to hope for the best that he happens to rescue it. But these days ppl do some POS stuff for view counts.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why were they filming? Why do I have these thoughts?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

But did he take the puppy home?

8 years ago | Likes 863 Dislikes 3

Take him home and love the hell out of him.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That’s all I cared about at the end

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Something tells me these two are bonded for life now. I guarantee he took him home

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

According to source: "I rescued the dog and he's now recovered and is very healthy"

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

'"When I was fishing, I spotted [the puppy] drowning, then I rescued the dog and he's now recovered and is very healthy," the man wrote.'

8 years ago | Likes 139 Dislikes 1

So…maybe, I guess? The guy's as good at ambiguous phrasing as he is at resuscitating puppies.

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

Save a pupper's life, keep the pupper for life.

with his big heart

Splishy splashy

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate to be the cynical one, but my guess is that the man created the scenario. He just happened to have a camera and know how to (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 26

perform canine CPR? How to improvise a mask? And, as you said, miraculously spot the tiny dog? I don't buy it.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 21

Are you suggesting he drowned a puppy just to shoot this video?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Not aggressively. I'm saying it's a possibility, but fully admit that I could and probably am wrong. I'm very skeptical of "good" things.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 14

He could’ve been planning to film something else when this came up and had already started.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Careful. Talking about possibilities is likely to incur aggressive backlash. Another valid suggestion, though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gopro and outdoorsmen seem to go together a lot

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hadn't considered that. It would have been more clear if there had been some footage from before the incident to contextualize, though.
