So if this administration's calculations are correct and the unemployment rate has been reduced from 42% to 4.7% - then 235,000 people account for 37.3% of the population? Got it.

For the record, 237,000 jobs were added in February 2016, and 238,000 added in February 2015. That trend continues under Trump, who's been in office 50 days and hasn't passed any legislation in regards to economics.

The unemployment rate - whose means of measurement has not changed since the 1940's - during Obama's final two months was 4.7% in December 2016 & 4.9% in January 2017.

It'll be interesting to see if Trump goes back to claiming the numbers are "phony" when we get farther away from the Obama Presidency & Republican "trick down" economic policies (plus dismantling of consumer financial & environmental protections) inevitably leads to job losses.

North America, best America!

What Trump is referring to is that the national survey does not include people not looking for work in the unemployment statistic.

Trump is talking about what percentage of the population doesn't have a job regardless of if they're trying.

So if you aren't trying to find a job or aren't on unemployment, you don't contribute to the percentage of the unemployment rate.

Sadly, the rate is understated. Was then, is still. Too many people on the dole.

You can argue the numbers a million ways, but this post is about how Trump can't be relied on for information.

The labor force participation rate is a separate measurement. Don't mix up the LFPR with the unemployment rate; they're two different things

I think he/she was eluding to the vast underemployment of people in addition to what you stated.

What a coincidence. I just found out Obama had my brake lines cut! What a bad (or sick) guy! (30 min later) I wish they'd bring back Donahue

Trump would have spelled it "break lines"

Trump's told his lying cunt of a press secretary "They may have been phony in the past, but it’s very real now.”

Calling Lying Spice a cunt is an insult to actual cunts.

I sincerely hate Spicer, Trump and every stupid moron associated with them. They will ruin everything they touch.

it makes me want to angry vomit, but lack of integrity is a cornerstone of his appeal.

His supporters think he's telling the truth most the time. More of them think he's more trustworthy than the media by staggering amounts.

And they're all like, "Hahaha, it's funny because Trump's a conman who swindled 63 million voters! And now he's President!" *tears*

I'm curious what you think about that part that the unemployment metric hasn't changed since the 1940's. Do you think it should be changed?
