It’s nice until her mental health declines because middle management corporate culture eats introvert women’s souls every day. Every. Day

Annnd congrats on the sex.

he said wife

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

LOL, my first thought too. Promotions usually mean more responsibility too, so they'll be exhausted. They won't have sex for a looong time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I guess he'll go to his gf for the sex

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

And his wife does not approve

Same thing happened to me and the wife... But it was due to min wage increasing....

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 2

....win?

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

It was back then, but congratulations.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Technical win!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

as long as he doesn't work for Tim Hortons.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How do you only make minimum wage?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 21

Listen young feller. Back in 2006 min wage was 6.50. Then it jumped to 7.25. sure gas was still 2.99 a gallon but you could drive fine!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Min wage was 5.50 in my state in 06 when i started working my first job :(

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What was your first job?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grocery store cashier

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A pretty large % of jobs are within $1/hr of minimum wage.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Large? Less than 1 percent of full time jobs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 11

2) People paying at or near minimum wage are often looking to cut corners on costs, so two part time positions instead of 1 full, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1) Less than 1% of full time jobs are AT minimum wage, that number doesn't include a .05 raise.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

3) This results in a lot of people having to get by with 2-3 part time positions at/near minimum wage, and since PT, less/no benefits.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Be valuable enough to work full time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

Yeah, but now when you go to celebrate, who pays?

8 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 4

He’s married, it’s all the same wallet in the end.

8 years ago | Likes 95 Dislikes 1

But it is really all hers though anyway amirite

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Yes this my fiance and i think just like this my money is his his is mine we are a team

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It... it was a joke.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree in concept, I still keep bank accounts separate

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We do that just because we're too lazy to merge them, but we make all major financial decisions together and we know where all the money /1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

goes. In effect it's all shared, even though it comes out of different accounts. /2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I upvotes because this is my thought too, but my wife and I are amazed at how many marriages have split finances

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

It shocks me too. My husband and I have had shared finances since we moved in together @ 20 and 22.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

We have two primary accounts that are separate and a joint account for major purchases and vacationing. Works extremely well

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We each have our own fun money. But all bills are the same account

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My wife is fucking horrible with money. We have split finances because I don't want to be homeless.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Hahahaha

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My gf is the same way

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Funny. I was bad with money but shared finances with my wife forces me to get better at saving.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Am married, have split finances. We both make very good salaries, but wanted to keep our financial independence.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My SO and I have one joint account for mortgage/bills but everything else is separate. We both have our own spending money accounts.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Same. It would the best for a modern couple.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Works*

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It would be the best for some couples while sharing finances would be the best for other couples.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Considering the divorce rate, I can't say it's a crazy idea.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

But which creates the other?

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

This is my thought. How much of a team are you if you're insisting on keeping your finances separate? Doesn't bode well for teamwork in /1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

None of them, divorce is caused but other factors in general.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I've worked in finance too long to see any benefit to having shared finances. Saves a lot of fights and the risk of waking up to a 0 balance

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Source: happily married to a person with different money handling ideas and things are peachy

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's not a bad idea, financial abuse is more common than you think

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The reason it's a bad idea is because if you're not aware of what the other person's doing with their money, they could be digging *you* /1

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

into a hole along with them. Both people need to know what's happening with the money, and agree on it too. This will also really help if /2
