Wow...the alternative was so bright...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How has no-one mentioned the fact that he wouldn't become Darth Vader if Padme didn't die? He wouldn't have the fight with Obi-Wan...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

because the comic is a vision of what could have been, but wasn't, as seen by Vader as he's dying at the end of Return of the Jedi?

Wasn't romance supposed to be forbidden to the Jedi? So he'd get kicked out of the order as soon as they found out he had a kid.

That's what happens when a writer makes a contrivance to backtrack an entire universe...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its the dating that basically ruined everything. Cared too much and the darkside found its way in

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd imagine that after killing (presumably) the most powerful sith alive at the time they would ease up on old Anakin

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but maybe he don't love dem hoes so he's just dropping nuts and smashing sluts. Then can he stay a Jedi?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

It wasn't really romance the Order was against, it was the attachment. A few too many Jedi went down the vengeance path for their liking.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought the panel was depicting Anakin turning his back on Kenobi and Yoda for his family.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

EU bit here, but the Corellian Jedi commonly had families.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Corellia was just the "Fuck you we play by our own rules" planet

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was quite common for jedi to have kids actually, they either kept it hidden or became "grey/gray" and gave their kids for training [pt 1]

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Some disliked the order and fled to train their children freely. But it was common tho frowned upon as they were against passion and feeling

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Loving your wife so much that you'll murder everyone in the Jedi temple, not cool. The Jedi kinda got a point.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well if they dealt with these feelings openly and honestly and don't hide maybe it turns out differently

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I guess the Jedi are naturally inclined to those sorts of extremes, while non-force users are not?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah but this is a nicer ending than the reality of canon

when you truly enjoy a series and the accompanying story, random days of our lives escapades doesnt cut it. i want an epic.

There was a branch of jedi seeking to lax up the code Qui Gon was a part of it. Having the Messiah and the hero of the jedi on their side(1)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Would provide a lot of political fire power to that branch

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe, but he'd get to have his family. That's what it shows, him playing with his kids, not being a Jedi Master. He would have been happy.

8 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 0

And would have brought some balance to the force already so could retire

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

And he could easily train them

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The order was already doomed... it was a flawed system

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

"Only a Sith deals in absolutes!"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Isn't that comment in and of itself an absolute?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Think that may have been the point. Said by Obi-Wan nonetheless.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who by his own logic was a sith.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Master ki-adi-mundi had a wife and kids iirc, some were given special permission due to cultural differences, the more you know

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

In the Jedi-apprentice books Qui Gon got, like... Jedi-married to another jedi. Something like that. Not that those are Canon anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think that was because it was a very rare chance for a male of his species to be born? Iirc

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

It was the fact that his specis was going extinct

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Extinct due to low birth rates if I recall correctly.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Interesting! I always thought it was silly to forbid love. Why serve at all? To uphold peace, justice etc and not fight for love is stupid

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

There where lots of warrior munk orders in the past. In European and other cultures. Maybe you should check their motivation.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Keep in mind, Anakin betrayed the Jedi for love.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's to avoid powerful emotions. Love is a tremendous motivator, but not always for good deeds.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Good point. But peace and justice are also good motivators to kill with the right intentions

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Those aren't emotions.
