#19 I used to hire a lot of voice over people (did ads at a radio station) - she’s on the money. A good voice over will be in and out of the booth within 5 minutes after nailing a few of these versions down. I gotta do another 20 ads today, so no time to waste. Easy money, but you gotta be good like her. Also bring the production person snacks, that’ll also get you extra work.

Yeah - I’m well out of date. I used to have to listen to samples on CD’s, call the agency, then the voice actor would physically come to our studios (and hopefully bring cake!),sit across the glass from us and we’d get it done in a few takes (…or not). I can see how online would take a lot of that away. Especially the cake.

Some great info on her being one of the founders of rock and roll in the podcast "A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs". Really interesting podcast, well worth a listen

I learned about her when I took History of Rock as one of those filler classes in college. It was a really fun class, we'd have to bring in a song from each artist we were learning about and then defend our choice to the class once a week. Tests comprised of the teacher playing parts of songs, and we had to list the artist, song & album, extra credit for names of band members, year of release, songwriter, etc. I learned about everything from Elvis & Beatles to Zeppelin & Fleetwood to RHCP
