The good good. Y’all I’m not gonna lie, this is 1000% my wife’s vision/doing. I’m hoping this doesn’t die in Usersub, bc she deserves all the credit for how good this looks. Countless amount of hours getting everything right, infinite patience...damn she did goooooood.

The before. I have never had a more difficult time taking cabinet pulls off. None of them had the same screw size, some had adapters connected to them. 0/10 would not recommend.

I hate you so very much, prep work.

No, I mean it. I really very much dislike you.

Not pictured: all the doors/drawers, fully painted. The Mrs putting in 10-12 hour days after I had to go back to work, getting everything just right. Just seeing her put in that work every day was inspiring to say the least.

Pendants pre-stained. Tbh I wasn’t sure if this would work, but it looks awesome!!

Finished!! All in all, it was a tedious process but 100% worth the effort. I know it goes without saying how proud I am of her, but I think a better word would really be...awe. Every time I look at this space now, I think about how much time and energy she put into making this happen.

One of my favorite views.

BAMFW at it! She isn’t on Imgur, but if you ever see this, my dear - I love you for your drive and determination (among a million other things), and I’m so proud of the work you did to make this our home.

Bonus dining room light pic!

I love how that green compliments the flooring. Very nice looking! Great job!

+1 for Dean Winchester!

Interior designer here; she did a marvelous job picking the colors. Matches the floor perfectly and the black touches work great!

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I will definitely give her that feedback!! Thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My entire main floor would fit in your kitchen.

Been there, bud.

"I think about how much time and energy she put into making this happen" this is real life magic

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would kill for your "before". Very nice job.

5 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

Yeah likewise i would kill for a kitchen like that

I'm currently trying to rent in the insane Mtl market. Some appartments have kitchens that are literally about 50cm wide after appliances.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dude! Can she help me with my dream kitchen! This is my goal!!! She's amazing.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol, she may be able to offer some pointers based on the space you have, but you’re SOL with prep help. Nope. Hard pass.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should show her the post, you can tell her I told you too so it’s humble

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Step one: get a brilliant wife

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Step one: have a brand new kitchen. Step two: paint the cabinets. Step three: post on imgur.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean that’s pretty much it.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think its beautiful, and you should be proud. Enjoy @op!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks bud!

Congratulations, you invented the 70's. I really like the wicker and avocado green.

It works with the powder room...

Wait, you undid sleek ultra modern and bland aesthetics to make it homey and more personal? MADNESS

Where's that before pic? We need a BEFORE

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The before is the one that is all plain white. This wasn’t a full remodel, just a great paint/redecorating job. Love it because it is doable

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thank you, I had missed that photo so I appreciate the help pointing it out

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s hard to tell on these low-key ones! All the new builds seem to look like this(the before) so I’m glad they made it their own!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What person has such a clean, empty garage?! Is that your murder room normally?! Kitchen looks great!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With all the drop cloths in there you would have thought it was owned by Dexter Morgan.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's very similar to the green I want to use on our cabinets. I just hate the name of the color we want, Privilege Green.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Check out Clare paint. We used them for our bedroom and bathroom as well.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool. Thanks!

The 60s are back!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh, tbh we tend to gravitate down that nostalgic road a bit in our day to day, so that makes sense.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I noticed from the lamp shade. It’s trendy these days.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lovely job!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Very beautiful, but I don't see anything "wrong" with the original kitchen.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not so much anything wrong, just wasn’t really...us. We decided to build new, and there weren’t many options during the build process.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Completely understand. :)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@op What brand paint was used for the cabinets? And did you like how it laid down?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We used Clare paint - Money Moves. The first coat wasn’t the best, so we actually applied 3 coats here.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP how did you apply it? brush? spray? We are interested in doing something similar to our kitchen cabinets and I'd appreciate any input.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oof, we started with a sprayer, and then moved over to foam roller for most of the surface, with a brush for the edge work.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, would not recommend using a sprayer on cabinets. It didn’t exactly spray evenly, and it’s not really a job you can cut corners on.
