Spider threads can be strong enough to trap a bullet.

Sorry snek not home right now snek walking into spiderwebs so leave a msg and snek call you back.

Unlikely story.

But, leave a msg and snek call u back.

It's a snake treadmill. The spider is trying to motivate the snake to push himself further.

Only in Australia mate

Ah man, now you gotta use a flame thrower & burn everything to dust then mix it with cement & on drying throw it into a deep lake.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow the water is crystal clear!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure that's a Coachwhip. One of the fastest snakes in North America

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn nature, You scary!!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Theres something comical about the way the snake is flipping about while the spider dances in anticipation.

Isn't nature neat?

Especially Australia's nature.

Spider silk is one of the most strongest materials in the world. People have been trying to harness it but there is no efficient way to do i

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It has a very high tensile strength yeah and it's also anti-bacterial. It's pretty neat stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Deadly battle between brown snake and red back spider in Australia ends with a surprising winner....the red back...(both are deadly as fuck)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not surprising, snake is a baby. (Course I live here in AUS so maybe that's the only reason its not surprising)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I wouldn't consider either particularly deadly honestly. The snake slightly more so.

Not everyday you get this much neatness in one shot!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neat fact number 2. Spider Web is stronger than Kevlar when woven together. ASU has had a lab researching for the DoD for some time

I need help. I have watched all GoT. Still don't get it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Some call him spider. The Web of lies and deceit he weaves is quite vast indeed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The nope caught the nope rope, and nope I didn't see that coming.

9 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 7

Yep, there's no hope for that nope rope..

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The nope caught the nope rope in that nope's rope

Black widow webs are stronger than average, and that snake has no leverage. Without leverage it doesn't matter how strong it is.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

pound for pound, web is stronger than steel to begin with IIRC

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a red back that's also a venomous spider and the snake is the world’s second deadliest. epic battle indeed

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Redbacks are just upside down black widows. That's why they live in Australia where everything is upside down.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone that has studied Latrodectus for some time, how do you know it's a "red back" from just that gif?

Ah ok fair enough. I just see a lot people trying to identify spiders when in reality they have no clue which annoys me.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Also that's not second deadliest snake in the world as no Latrodectus live near Echis carinatus naturally.

1)I mean it's based off their LD50 number but that is done on mice and is not relevant to humans really. So people say it's the second most

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2)deadly snake after the coastal taipan but it only kills like 1 person a year vs the 30ish that other species kill each year.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I wonder how would the spider go about it's meal now.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

It calls its horde of spider friends for dinner.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It will paralyze it then cocoon it, infuse with poison that breaks down protein and lastly slurp the yummie meat juice

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

From what I've seen, the spider will just wait for it to wear itself out before it gets close.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

It'll microwave that bitch

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Their mandibles aren't large enough to get through the scales. The snake is too large & strong to overpower; they'll just cut them loose.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean it depends on the spider but I would bet that a widow of that size could puncture the scales of a snake that size.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't forget that we know it can pierce human skin and human skin is thicker than the scales of a snake that small. Also it's not 100% scale

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea like how does it devour something so big to it's relative size?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ask op's mum ;)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this would suggest there are things bigger than OPs mom the only things I know of close to that size would be small moons. She's no moon.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Something that big won't be eaten fully. Kinda nifty that their webbing is stronger than steel. Granted it will need to be several strands.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I didn't figure it would consume it all in one sitting, or even eat it all period. I just wondered if they had some process of preservation

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spider web is actually anti-biotic so it's a really good preservative. Kind of like salting something so a while.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Usually the wrap the food in a cocoon, as to how long it preserves is unknown to me. I've seen the same spider go at dime sized house fly

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Spider web is a pretty good preservative as I understand it since it is anti-bacterial.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For three days.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

By that logic can't anything be stronger then steal. I know this sounds pretentious I don't mean to offend, it just got me thinking.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

An equivalent thickness of spiderweb is stronger than steel is I think the point.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yup, which is pretty niffty. Spiders are so cool, at a distance. Nope ropes are so cuddly, I got to hold me a boa.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eventually yeah, I believe it's the tensile strength is what scientists go by. I should probably gets some sauce, brb.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Haha you make it sound scientific I just the of the bundle of sticks scene from planet of the apes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Fun fact: If a spider made a big enough web whose strands were as thick as a pencil, it could stop a moving Boeing 747.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, steel has a relatively low tensile strength.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah steel is definitely harder than spider web for one. Just less tensile strength.
