I just love this!! Each child can choose which greeting they like! My daughter would have liked something like this when she was little, as she is uncomfortable with hugs from people who she’s not close to.

All this individual attention is bullshit. What if I don't want anything?

So lovly to see, so many Kids that picked the heart/hug <3 My family is a hugger, wifes family is not, just happy that My daughter loves hug

The girl gets a full-squat hug and the boys get the tiddy-squizy hug

I seen this teacher greeting here a few times. It’s simply great. Time to formally introduce it in all classrooms in the world.

This is sweet, but class is half over by the time they get seated...

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

A male teach would get 20 years for that

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those kids who got hugged looked like they really needed it

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Studying to be a teacher... as a male, no hugs...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, makes me realize my teachers were cold af

I'd love to have this at work. Wait, what?

I don't agree with all the details, but I do appreciate the approach of Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages: words of affirmation, acts of >

service, spending quality time, giving gifts and physical touch. Each is vitally important to the right person.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No hugs unless you're this tall

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do this with my class. Today is my kiddos first day back. And I am so excited!! This just makes me want to get in there even more!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can I just say, I know this isnt true for everyone, that I am so glad I am out of school now since this is becoming a thing. My autistic

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

ass hated that sort've attention.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

What would you say if it was a male teacher?

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Knew this would pop up. And, yes, everyone would scream pedophile.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Hugs still good, more men in the classroom would be great for many kids. It's the hallway outside the room, kids choose comfort level.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Feel like there's a new iteration of this one every month.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Great, now I have to be anxious about what greeting I should choose.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Is it normal to hug the kids on the way into class ? Most schools I've seen teacher opens the door, kids file in, teacher says good morning.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean, half my teachers didn't even say good morning.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's the music note do? C'mon hit the music note! Ughh no one gunna hit... oh nice

6 years ago | Likes 722 Dislikes 2

yeah I watched far too long waiting for that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A little dance.

6 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 3

I thought it was an artistic door and you can just walk out like a savage without saying goodbye.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

didn't occur to me it was a music note. Thought it was a pair of legs

6 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

I was expecting a kick to the shin with that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That kinda works too

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You rocking that SpongeBob tight gab?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You should see a doctor about your legs.

6 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

Why hasn't this comment got more recognition

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Getting chased by man with quaver legs? Put on some really slow music and watch him unable to walk out of time with it while you get away

As an introverted child who's not amused by overfamiliar informal relations like this id be so upset for wasting time

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 16

Im here to learn, not make your acquaintance you weird creepy sad adult.

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 18

Oh, but there are so many things a kid can learn from this. Social interaction, patience, it's own inner needs, hand eye coordination...

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Well I suppose that’s OK, but do they all know the Pythagorean Theorem?

6 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 7

?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But the Pythagorean theorem is actually useful. Havent you ever needed to know a diagonal distance?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

yes, yes I have

The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell

My 1st grade teacher had a hug line as we left the class. For some reason, I thought it was funny to headbutt her.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

My 1st grade teacher was a big fat nun who used a yard stick to beat a kid's ass who wouldnt behave (who today would be said severe ADHD)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And was it?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Y'know what? It still is. She went on to marry my uncle, so I still see her quite a bit and we both laugh about how weird I was as a kid.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, that's amazing :-)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My kids are lucky if they don’t get a sarcastic comment when they walk in. “MORNING SUNSHINE” or “Cause any trouble today?” are my go-tos.

6 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 7

Ah, I see you also teach high school

6 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Oh hell no. They’re wayyyy too big and stinky for me. Fifth grade. Where their angst is starting to come in full swing.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

I have mixed feelings about this

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

My mom just started her 40th class this year. 6-8th grade math/science and 8th grade home room teacher. She got some stories about angst.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Kid in the beanie hat *really* needed a hug.

6 years ago | Likes 204 Dislikes 2

Sad to think some kids don't get enough hugs. And some get none at all

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, totally brought me to tears seeing how quick they leaned in for it.

6 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

For some kids that hug is more important than that teacher may know. Good on her.

6 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

Yep, absolutely right.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I need a hug too.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

*hug*

That teacher definitely catching a cold or flu

6 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 3

No way. She’d be immune to smallpox by this point.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Germs don't pass through your skin or jacket. If she doesn't touch her eyes or nose before washing hands, she'll be fine.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

What if she touches the doorknob, then washes her hands, then touches the doorknob again, then rubs her eyes?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No different than touching the doorknob without doing all of these high fives.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Flu is airborne

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So touch is not a meaningful vector.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry for picture quality.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 7

This is awesome!

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Never apologize for doing something poorly, the fact that you did it at all speaks well of your character. You didn't try, you DID IT GREAT!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

? Thank you!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm currently studying to become a high school teacher, and i notice that there is still a large negative thing towards social interaction

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

with males in my country. I have to wonder if i tried something like this with high school kids how well it would go over, and i can't help

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but think that it would end poorly purely because of the potential for female students hugging a male teacher. Which saddens me.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would have hated this as a kid. Crippling social anxiety to the point I cried when I had to ask for a pencil. Maybe this would have helped

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

I dont think I understand your comment. Do you think this is a good or a bad idea

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I personally would have hated it, but at the same time maybe it would have helped my anxiety issues by bringing me out of my comfort zone

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Why would you hate it? You wouldn't have to say anything

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hated being around people, hated being in crowds, hated being touched, hated having any attention on me. When I was in 4th grade I 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

forgot a pencil and asked my teacher for one and he was kinda irritated about me forgetting and everyone was looking at me. I just 2/3
