All I see is flying rabies.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

According to the CDC 6% of caught bats have rabies. If bitten I'm not risking rabies, still gonna get vaccinated.

I hear that but I also remember that post a few weeks ago about bats and rabies and I’m scarred

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is estimated that less than 1% of bats (in the US AT LEAST) has rabies!

It's not that common in fruit bats. Vampire bats, probably, but fruit bats? No

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember reading that even it’s rare overall for vampire bats too. Only in a few areas in their range where it’s a little more common.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Huh. I would think that with a blood based diet it would be more common. Guess not

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The virus is passed on by saliva and not blood. But being social is they are, it is possible for them to pass it on to each other by 1 ->

-> social grooming and sharing blood. Those with the virus normally don’t last long as it weakens them fast.

a non-vaccinated person or animal and send it off for testing. That’s why Meg sometimes gets so curt with people in her videos. 2/

It’s nice that they want to help, but they’d just end up doing more harm than good. 3/

Yes. I asked her if those tested how many positives she had gotten. In over 10 years she only had 2. Good reason behind that.
