In light of my view of how shit The Last Jedi was, I was curious about what others thought.. From rotten tomatos and metacritic..

alot of people didn't like the mantra "Let go of the past and embrace the new"

Because super fans will never be happy. There will never be a perfect Star Wars movies, and that’s fine. It’s a fun movies if you accept that

Because critics rate only the one movie (TLJ) and cinematic and score was 9/10. Fanboys can rate the whole saga sequence 1-8

The critics are dead on the money with this one. awesome film.

Boss! I think that it had a lot of intriguing ideas in it. Primarily the fact that Rey isn’t related to anyone!Thank god! No Goku Star Wars!

I liked it. Why is it so hated?

Because racist trolls made fake accounts to bomb rotten tomatoes. Real surveys agree with the critics.

I guess some scenes were a bit too pc but i actually liked the flow of movie. A few parts got me really into the story.

I liked it as well

I think to get a fresh start they had to change a lot, this upset people who were familiar with the history of the movies.

I know the history, but I was fine with it. At least they wouldn't just repeat the same stuff all the time

I enjoyed the connection between Rey and Kylo, the rest didn't seem to progress the overall story very well. 1/2

I also don't feel that any element in the story is pulling me towards part 3 (2/2)

Luke died like a bitch. With carrie fisher dead they should have done reshoots with luke leading the rebellion

Luke redeemed himself for his past failures, and saved the last remaining piece of hope in the galaxy: the rebels. He died a hero.

Because critics generally look at the art of filmmaking. Audiences want to enjoy the damn movie.

I could enjoy it.

I honestly thought it was a terrible movie because if the film making

It’s the best shot Star Wars film from a cinematography perspective, and it did a lot of stuff that was predictable. Which is hence why

A lot of fanboys/girls hated it. It’s hard to meet peoples expectations, film critics need to be separated from that. Beyond some writing

Issues in act 2 of the film the movie as a whole is very solid.

Best starwars since the original trilogy. Much better than The Force Awakens. Poe should be court martialed. If he hadn't disobeyed orders

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Rebels would have gotten away. He caused most of their deaths.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

That was so stupid though, they didn't even have a scene where Poe recognizes his mistake, a perfect dramatic moment, glossed over.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well officer whatever her name is with the purple hair should have told him the fucking plan, he would have dropped it then

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Holdo, her name is Holdo. I don't understand why she needed to hide the plan from Poe

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But that would ruin the totally unnecessary plot twist

Critics are not necessarily fans of the franchise and tend to look at the movie in a subjectively critical fashion. Fans of the franchise->

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

<- look at the movie in a different subjective fan-based fashion. My opinion is: there are few good parts, but it is a bad Star Wars film.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Some fans enjoy it too. I think ot splits between those who hoped it would go one way, and hated that it went the opposite way

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You should reread what I wrote, no where did I say fans didn't like the movie, they just see the movie differently than critics.

I openly accept any canon star wars film as canon. I know it is a part of the story now, and I can't change it. So I never guess
