I hate my IT department

Me: I can't get PDF files to open in my email anymore

IT: what browser are you using?

Me: Chrome

IT: I recommend you use Internet Explorer for all internal applications

Me: Oh! You know what, never mind! Thank you very much for your time.

Applying policy to thousands of PCs is easier with IE. Chrome has good templates though so we started supporting it too.

Sometimes applications only work on certain browsers...so your IT may be forced to use IE. Unfortunately :(

As an IT guy... Your admins are probably forced to use Windows IIS serves and Microsoft exchange so IE will work better for internal stuff.

But I hate it sooo much! Their solution to the problem was "IE or Outlook" both of which make me want to rip my eyeballs from their sockets.

Open PDF files in Default viewer. Make sure you default viewer is set in the OS to whatever you prefer (Adobe Reader, etc) . You shouldn't

That sucks. Your IT people should be able to do it without any problems. Takes all of two minutes to do.
