Does it fuse together and become solid?

9 years ago | Likes 197 Dislikes 1

Looks like it

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Solid.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kinda, it's real brittle, slightly stronger than a sand castle.

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

And a whole lot more dangerous, you can get cut on one of these fuckers

Black iron oxide. The steel is hot enough as its leaving the saw that it is molten and reacting with oxygen in the air. It his and sticks

9 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 1

iron oxide is rust?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on the oxidation state of the iron. This is mostly iron (II) oxide, FeO. Normal rust is a hydrated form of iron (III) oxide, Fe2O3.

Cool :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so, yes or no?

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

Yes, kind of.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Its probably really brittle and full of pockets of air. Take a hammer to it and it'll shatter.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, "fuse" is a strong word and it doesn't weld into one solid chunk of metal. But yes, it "sticks" together better than sand-castle sand.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

so...yes orrrr?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

So hot it fuses with air. That's what I got out of that

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

which pretty much just means it rusts which didnt really answer the question

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2
