Kinda looks like a drywall anchor...

It IS a drywall anchor! (Drill for scale)

But why is it square??

Nifty!

And look how much it holds!

My brother works at MIT and invents cool things like this. Even if he never makes money from his inventions I'm super proud of him and wish I had his creativity.

He's not on imgur, but I just wanted to share because I thought some of you might appreciate it :)

Ok..... so what does that do?

Now we can step into Legos when we walk up the wall, nice!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh great it holds... um... a couple sticks and a wheel thing? I guess I didn't realize the iPhone would be a success either...

now let's cover the whole wall

Lego anchors is genius. Up there with kitten mittens.

I thought the people at MIT were meant to be clever?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Traditional drywall anchors do fine, but kudos to him for making a thing.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I mean traditional drywall anchors do better, since those clutch the other side of the wall on bigger area. But inventing that is so cool.

Oh, he's not on imgur. That's why he gets shit done

Few truer words have ever been typed out.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Not on Imgur? I don't understand.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Quick question. Why would you want to drill holes in your walls just to be able to put a few lego pieces on it?

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Maybe they could make it work with pegboard?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The alternative is drilling holes in the walls and putting shelves up to put the Lego on. Why waste the money on shelves?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

You could hang 4 and put a board on it to make a lego "canvas".

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Quick question". Love it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it was a dildo from the thumbnail. If it was a bit bigger and you're brave enough, I guess.

Same here! I genuinely thought "who aside goatsie would use that Dido! "

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bender might.

Oh. Ooh. I LIKE that.

He invented a drywall screw anchor?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd just superglue a lego brick on a nail head.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And that's why you don't go to MIT, now good day sir. I SAID GOOD DAY SIR!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Why tho?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So... thingiverse link? Or do I have to open Solidworks and make this myself...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've asked my brother. If/when he gives me one I'll PM you :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OP's slow, I made one instead. Enjoy! http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2049832

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So this seems like it's holding virtually nothing? Am I missing something?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

holds virtually nothing, and creates a huge hole in the wall.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

So, wtf did he invent? A way to stick some Legos on the wall?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

"Even if he never makes money from his inventions" REALLY? why money does always have to be the reason for success?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because YOU NEED MONEY TO LIVE

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I NEED THIS!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I've often wanted to stick my legos to the wall. Keeps me from stepping on them.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

...I wonder if you could 3d print this with wood fiber to make something that would hold screws to trees.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

IDK, try it out - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2049832

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a lot of hate for this but I think it's cool! I could hang my son's creations without a shelf...it would look sweet!
