I feel so represented right now!

This is what caused the president of the United States to call for their deaths. A bunch of military vets tell enlisted people they don't have to follow illegal orders, and the president of the United States throws a shitshow hissyfit and calls them seditionists and says they need to be prosecuted or dead... wow... just... wow.

Maga: stating the law is treason

4 months ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 1

I will now always see trump as Lord Farquaad. I will now be in search of PS pictures to post for his belligerent stupidity when people post it.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Trump's becoming a danger to everyone, including MAGA congress members. Way past time to get rid of him. He is a national security threat.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Anyone outside of the US: It is unamerican to threaten and kill people who disagree with you? Really? Explain the last 70 years of US foreign policy. /sarcasm

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would definitely vote for her for president.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Thank you Senator Elissa, this is a powerful stance and sentiment.
As a native Michiganader (Who wants to come home, but stuck due to costs) I both salute you, and am proud of my home state.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cool words, Slotkin. Got any actions in mind?

Sincerely,
Someone who actually did vote for you

Schumer in the background, already preparing to suggest a compromise with Trump. Maybe just execute half of them? No? Okay, then we give up our demands.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Trump was grateful they allowed him to deflect from the Epstein files. He is a master of this craft. He knows if he keeps calling reporters piggies, MBS a great guy, and threatening to kill senators, you will all move on from the files.

Just a general reminder. When Obama was President for his first term the Republicans all agreed to reject every single proposal regardless of what was in it. Obama in response offered to host a super bowl party at the Whitehouse and invited all of them to join. No one showed up. He did not go to Social Media afterward and call them all names and threaten them. Know the difference between a real president and a lunatic crybaby man-child.

"i refuse to believe that we are going to use fear and intimidation against people we disagree with." This is what the US has always been about. It has just come home to roost now.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Hard to say its come home to roost, when its also been the norm in the states since the start. As an American who has actually studied American history, Trump is just repeating multiple incidents since the creation of the country. Things to think about - reasoning behind civil war, the way immigrants have always been treated, the way Natives have been treated, internment camps during WWII, NG firing on peaceful protest various times, the anti-civil rights movement/jim crow laws. The list goes on

Fascism is colonialism turned inward.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This just looks desperate. They should be reminding them that the current regime and "I was just following orders" can't protect them after he's gone.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like Slotkin’s message here, and gladly support here when she does the right. I just wish she would finally wake up and make the right decisions to help the people of Palestine. No more American tax dollars to fund a genocide.

Asking an ex cia spook to not support israel is like asking fish to fly.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s a fair point.

Authoritarian Fascism and the Banana Republic intensify.

4 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Did he say what charges he would file? The last time I checked, there was still no law against stating an opinion. Do we still live in the USA?

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope this is a wake up call for all Democrats in office right now. We hear you loud and clear, but the people who need to year this are already getting ready to storm the capitol again.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Goddammit. NO, when will they get it? Threatening death against who we disagree with is *EXACTLY* who Americans are! Why do they keep appealing to the humanity of the American people when there is none?

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I mean... [looks at the US's history]. Yeah... IDK, I guess it's different when they are threatening other Americans

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Agreed

Trump swore an oath of office twice, committing his loyalty to the Constitution. What do we do with those who abandon their oaths and our Constitution? That is the ONLY thing that gives them any authority to govern. If they have abandoned it, they have abandoned their right to govern. We need to declare this fact, and declare their authority invalid, and start governing without them. This is not a "difference of opinion," they have committed sedition. End this gruesome charade.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Our country is a fucking embarrassment. Trump should be immediately removed and no Republican should ever hold office again, period.

4 months ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately we'll end up with the same party under a different name

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wellwellwell if that ain't a step in the same direction

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 27

Saying a party shouldn't be a party anymore it's not the same as threatening execution

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Not really. The republican party has shown that they are willing to let this country be taken over by a wannabe fascist dictator and have supported that. The other side doesn’t support anything like that…

I tweeted to multiple democrats that they need to impeach his fat ass for what he said.

4 months ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 3

He's been impeached.....twice....

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck ylu lassannn also get rid of nazi social media, and we gotta wait and see if dems win mid terms to even propose that, if anything you should be tweeting republicans bc rn thats who we would need. If dems try now it'll only strengthen GOP resolve behind trump. If a republican does it, it would potentially sway other GOP and the dems would be all over it. But if dems get midterms then it might not matter where GOP stands but it'll Def cause a ruckus

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree with everything except that Dems will be all over it. Due to the recent and not so recent events. I completely lost faith in them.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuuuuuck you lassannn but also thank you!

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They've already impeached him twice. It doesn't do anything.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Impeaching Trump makes as much difference as thought and prayers.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

How did they respond to that?

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

With some grandstanding and fundraising prolly.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most likely not at all. If any of them had the guts to say something they would have to be the minority that want to not juts go back to the status quo but undo the damage he has done and put i safety guards to prevent this level of corruption from ever happening again.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Cute that you think ...that...will do anything or hold anyone accountable...

4 months ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 7

Screw this defeatist attitude. Its up to us to beat this. We need to continue speaking up and speaking out so that other people who share your attitude know that we can, and will, beat this.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It tiring

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If every voter did it, it may have an impact

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Your representatives do not represent you. Or your interests. They only do what money and corporate wants them to do. Thats usually fucking people like you and me over

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

For those who may have forgotten, this is what an articulate, sane, competent, courageous politician looks and sounds like.

4 months ago | Likes 481 Dislikes 4

Wait so shouting and spraying-tanning aren’t part of healthy dialogue??

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

This is what a decent human being sounds like.

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Can't they sue for death threats or slander, ect?

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

MAGAs watching that video

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Much better then when she was asked about the genocide. That was some rough television.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

She did misuse a reflexive pronoun.... So idk. Both sides /s

4 months ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 3

Thank you for that. I spit my coffee while reading that comment.

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I think it's my best comment in a long time. Glad I learned grammar for no other reason than jokes :)

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, look! A former CIA executive, I'm sure she's a saint! Let me check a few of her recent declarations, just to make sure. Spoiler: she supports certain... regimes abroad. This is just a snake that got bit by another snake.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Don't be an idiot, the snake in the White House is biting you, fool.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

She might be "less bad", she's far from good. See who see supports. There's one of her interviews linked in another comment in this thread. If you agree with her, fine. If you don't, you are the one that got fooled.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah? 'Refusing to believe' what you just saw with your own eyes? Saying 'this is beyond the pale' and moving on? Very little courageous about that. Not to speak of competence.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 21

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She's dumb and stupid because she doesn't agree with someone who's breaking the law?

I want to accuse you of some AI slur, but the grammar isn't even good enough. Just... failure on all levels. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I didn't call her dumb, nor did I call her stupid, I called her incompetent. Those are quite different. My point is, disagreeing is not good enough anymore. The inaction of just putting out a video and moving on is not just complacent, it's dangerous.

Also, English is my second language. You're hereby invited to write your reply in your second language, if you have one.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I truly don't know who this message is for. Which of his supporters - people that are cool with an insurrectionist and probable pedophile being the face of our government - are going to care about simply calling for political violence? You might as well send him a very strongly worded letter.

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 6

The message is for those who have submitted to his threats and abuse and are marching in step. Those kissing his ring to get their own needs met. Those still playing "bipartisan cooperation" games because they think they're somehow being reasonable. It's a call to step away from standing obediently, passively, cooperatively on the wrong side of history.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I strongly disagree.
As a country and politically, the Right has normalized the language of fear, intimidation, bullying, and outright hatred and it must stop.
Attempting to stop it through additional violent language or acts will only make things worse. We must remain civil, and perhaps even more civil than our opponents. We will all lose if we devolve to violence in response to the Right.

4 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 4

You can brag about how civil you were while they march us into ovens.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That going to be pretty useless, but I disagree with 287 for a different reason. The message won't change the mind of his supporters, true, but it's still important to speak. To stand your ground and document it all. By itself it won't do much, but there is always power in truth, and unity can only come with communication.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Huh, some people on imgur must have mellowed out recently. I've gotten used to this kind of comment getting yelled at and downvoted on here.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, been part of that (getting DV for saying stuff like "don't literally and publicly relish someone's death, even if they're complete shit. All that's gonna do is paint target and piss people off." And, ironically, I actually disagree with the Sen here. Sedition and treason should absolutely be met with the highest force, whether that be execution or life in prison. The problem is the wrong people are being accused of those crimes. It's not simple disagreement, either, but a dictator's demand

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So how do we stop the violence of the right is we won't meet them with violence when they control all of the levers of power? They control all of the violent and nonviolent means of getting out a message and controlling the people. What do we have left?

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We outnumber them.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Even if we do, our electoral system is biased against the majority.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think we're quickly moving past the election system to solve this country's current issue.
