What did you use for the bottom layer? And did you use any filling / stuffing? I'm thinking of trying my culture's version of a quilt.

The bottom layer is “minky” fabric - it’s a polyester fleece. I used polyester batting on the inside too.

Thanks for the info. I started collecting my fabric scraps this weekend. With a bit of luck I'll end up with a usable quilt.
