I don't normally post things like this because I don't like confrontation and that seems to be what most people like to use the internet for lately. But I was just so touched that he responded to my letter at all and I wanted to share this with anyone who would find it uplifting or ... something.
I reached out to his office expressing my fears, which are the fears of many others. I told him my story, about my miscarriage and how the pills didn't work and I needed a d&c. I told him I have daughters, and how terrified I am that the unthinkable should happen to them and we are left to decide, do we flee the state to seek an abortion? Will that even be an option for us? What if I have another miscarriage and I am unable to receive the care I was provided with the first time? I told him I made the decision to get a tubal, even though I wasn't sure if we were done having children because I can't fathom leaving my other children without a mother. At any rate, this was his response. I cried. I feel seen.
Thank you for reading.

These guys are my guys. They campaign where I live and I can't vote for them fast enough or hard enough.

I’m so sorry you’ve ever had to experience that. And I share your fears and the fears for your daughters. This was incredibly sweet of him

I'm so frustrated that both my senators are GQP lunatics.

Warnock is great. He got my vote last time and will again.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Women need to vote out the people that want to have them go back to being 50's housewives.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Warnock seems like a pretty good guy, as politicians go. Unfortunately, until the Dems gain more seats he can only do so much for folks.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Very true. I am hoping this may convince people to vote for him or to donate to his campaign if they are able. GA needs to stay blue.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I am voting for Warnock again this year.

3 years ago | Likes 204 Dislikes 1

Same. The fact that he took the time to reach out to me means a lot. Not a word from Kemp, but that's not a surprise.

Honest question, what stops biden from signing an executive order for this?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Executive orders are about how to enforce/prioritize federal laws, and they're not going to be effective in stopping enforcement by states.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A executive order is functionally worthless in this case. Really, without a majority in both houses, the president is functionally worthless

I got a letter back from one of my senators citing "sanctity of life" I wrote back.... that's bullshit if you don't

Support universal healthcare and a living wage.

Glad the reverend's on our side. Good on you for reaching out, OP. I'm sorry for your losses, and hope you and yours will be well.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you, I hope the same for you and yours.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're welcome, and thank you muchly.

I think Senator Warnock is a good person, this shows he has compassion and respects the rights of others to make medical decisions.

3 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 1

Especially considering he is a reverend. He caught a lot of shit for referring to himself as a prochoice pastor. I am very proud of him.

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Yep. I’m about as atheist as you can get but this is just a genuinely good guy and I’m voting for him again.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I’m sorry for your miscarriages. I hate how women get treated for something they have no conscious control over. Thank you for reaching >>

out to your representative and being heard. From one woman to another, you did a very good thing.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Thank you, you're very kind. I am just so tired of feeling powerless, and I'm sure I'm not alone. We need to take care of each other.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Democrats are NOT a worry. It's the loonies on the other side of the isle who are taking your rights away. :(

Absolutely agree with you. I guess I really was just venting frustration. I'm looking forward to voting for him again this year.

3 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 4

dont forget the centrists.... those are even worse... saying the left and right are the same and they should just compromise -.-

3 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 5

Centrists aren't _worse_ than the crazies on the right, but I guess you can argue they are as bad, since they're enabling the crazy.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

The crazies are just "the crazies"...back when it was the fringe, it was barely a problem. Centrists normalize crazy through equivalence.

I am so sorry for your loss... I lost my first and very wanted pregnancy at 9 weeks last year, and aborted. I am 8 weeks now and terrified.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A miscarriage is considered a spontaneous abortion, medically. I know these laws south of the border do not affect me (yet) but my heart...

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bleeds for all of the millions of women who are being policed on their medical needs...

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am sorry for your loss. I have a rainbow baby myself, and was scared shitless the entire pregnancy. Best of luck to you, my friend. ❤️

THIS is why the lobby was allowed in the first place. "Call your congressman" is lobbying. It brings constituents' concerns to those who

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

represent them in government. More of us need to use this tool as it was intended, to fight the ones who back their "lobbies" with "totally

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

unrelated donations that magically appear" after being agreed to. We, the voters, need to band together in sufficient numbers to tell those

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

in Washington that they should be listening to the people who hold power over their re-election, NOT those who feed their wallets.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In short: Good work, @OP, for using this tool for good. But don't neglect state officials; get the state to do it if the feds won't.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everyone in this country needs to be made to understand that the line between miscarriage and abortion is VERY blurry. Everyone needs to 1/

3 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

Even without that distinction. Sometimes abortion is necessary or the best alternative to any number of outcomes.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh I 100% agree. I just don't think even the "pro-life" crowd really understands what they're advocating for.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

understand that there are a multitude of ways an intentional pregnancy can go wrong where the safest and best treatment is an abortion. 2/

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

If you make a law that says doctors cannot perform an abortion unless the woman is dying, that means they have to WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE DYING 3

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

before they can help you. Women are going to die completely avoidable deaths. And it's not just going to be because of back alley 4/

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

abortions. It's going to be people you know who got pregnant on purpose and never wanted an abortion. I don't care how pro-life you are, 5/

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

you'd have to be absolutely fucking insane to think that a woman shouldn't be able to abort a non-viable pregnancy that could kill her. 6/6

Hi friend and fellow Georgian, a disappointing FYI. Most senators have some sort of automated message response for common political issues.>

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I know this bc I sent correspondence to Isakson's office over the repeal of net neutrality. His response used standard republican talking >

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Points I had already disproven in my message to him. Indicating he never even read it.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Perhaps he didn't read it, maybe I was screaming into the void. I sent my letter to both senators and the governor and only Warnock 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Has responded. I sent my letter 3 weeks ago. Regardless, he has my vote once again.
