Most people understand that children esp are so vulnerable to growing toward pessimism and defeat bc of their parents or the rest of their life. They (we) find joy in making people’s lives a little nicer for a moment. It’s the musicians and famous people who ignore children or individual suffering who are outliers.
It's easy to forget with the fandoms of some stars. I like a few k-pop songs, I like a few Beyoncé songs, a few Taylor Swift songs... but their fans scare me enough that I actively avoid finding anything about about the singers (upcoming albums, videos, etc) because I can't handle the cesspools that are their fan spaces.
Sometimes I fall down the rabbit hole of watching YouTube vids of artists being nice to their fans during concerts. People like Dave Grohl, Jessie J or Billie Joe Armstrong, who seem to genuinely enjoy what they're doing.
I really like one where Matt Heafy stops playing to guide medical staff towards a fan in distress and talked about how they should always care about each other. The clip is nothing special in comparison to other similar videos but every single one is special in its own way.
Did you see the one where Dave Grohl(I think it was) saw some guy feeling up a woman? Stopped mid song and waited until the guy was thrown out to continue. 10/10
If I had that kind of stage... 100% doing that EVERY concert. If I got known for that kind of thing to the point it got called schtick, I'm there for it in every way.
Saw one with Michael Bublé brought a 15 year old kid on stage because his mom said he wanted to be a singer. Michael Bublé was shocked when the kid could really sing.
Dave Grohl is known for randomly helping at homeless shelters in the cities that he's touring. He's also known for getting bored and smoking lots of meat and then delivering and serving it at local LA food banks and homeless shelters.
I was at a Green Day concert about 15 or so years ago, and BJA asked for someone in the audience to come on stage and play the bass part for Longview, and he brought up a kid who was probably 12-15 who absolutely butchered it (understandable), and the kid was super embarrassed so BJA hugged him and told him to keep the bass, and as the kid was leaving yelled "now practice, damn it!"
I saw the same thing at last Green Day concert. BJA asked if anyone could play a certain song and a kid got up but he was WAY nervous and tried but told him he couldn’t. bJA said that was ok but to keep the guitar (Gibson Les Paul!!) and keep trying at home. Was so cool. Also they played for like 3 hours straight
They played for a really long time at that concert, too. They did two encores that went on until almost midnight, and they had started playing around 8:30-9
Pink is really good too. She stopped to talk to a little girl who was crying because her parent/guardians were arguing. She scolded the adults and gave the girl her own Rice Crispy Treat.
Used to work at a restaurant they frequented too, always pleasant, no egos. She and Carey have a house near my home town and I'd see them just hanging at the local beer garden, just being locals. Genuinely kind, down-to-earth people.
Watch the video for So What. The song was about breaking up with her husband. They invited him up to be in the video, and that resulted in them getting back together. You can see it right in their faces towards the end of the video. It's really sweet.
BastardMan1977
So goddamn wholesome

She has 800 million dollars. What is she doing to make peoples lives better that are not paying fans?

This is actually the first time I’ve heard her sing. Wow
DoctorScoutBobTotoBarkingtonIII
Got to respect her ability to sing so strongly in that position. I can’t bend over and breathe at the same time.
eastend666
Well, my opinion of Beyonce just went through the roof.
RockKickass
Beyoncé also pushes people to get out the vote. She’s a good person
BrownestofCoats
I get what she's doing, but if it was me, just hold my hand. Nobody touches my face.
Lexgeddon
It is risky - some people do not like to be touched in this way - but it seems to have worked out this time.
flordelasantillas
Precious of Beyonce to take time to light up a little girls life.
user2000
she cant see any light...........
BDBottom
Also proves beyond a shadow of a doubt she's singing in real time, not a tape.
*cough* Madonna *cough*
navagon
*Madonna's tape starts playing 2 hours before she shows up*
Booklover4life
I generally don’t like Beyoncé. Her music just isn’t my thing. But I respect her hustle. Total respect for what she did here, showing love to a fan.
ElizaWithAnX
I'm sure she appreciates you respecting her even though you don't like her. She totally needs your respect
Booklover4life
Very edgy bro
ChaoticEnigma1121
I don't much care for Beyoncé, but I got to give her credit for this. Beautiful moment.
ElizaWithAnX
Good thing you let us know that you don't much care for her though
Booklover4life
Have you taken her boot out of your mouth yet? Good lord you sycophant

When it comes to that picture, I’ve always seen someone in peak condition serving it 100.
Tumescentpie
I wish I were ever in that kind of physical shape
Vergenbuurg
Agreed. I see nothing embarrassing about that photo. It's a physically fit, gorgeous woman TOTALLY into the moment and giving it everything.
iambassist
Musicians make some weird faces live. Especially when you’re feeling it and in the groove.
The pic is still hilarious, though.
whatspaulplayingtoday
Absolutely. It's still an amusing photo, but it's clear that she's just putting everything into that performance.

Honestly what a great rabbit hole. I’m gonna try this instead of reading about undiscovered tribes or micro nation states.

She has always stood up for injustices at her shows. A great character. And her shows are AMAZING

The performance of Glitter In The Air, 2010 Grammys - incredible.

I hate that this is the first I'm hearing of how cool Pink is.

Yeah I think I read something along the lines of Pink is now buying books for kids much like Dolly has been for decades.
