X-Men cinematic universe is messed up. Like the actual comics now where anything can be true in the next movie if they wanted it to be.

Deadpool is right, these timelines are confusing.

I hate these bizarre X-men story lines, there is plenty of excellent material from the comics and cartoons they could use.

I was going to make a massive post about the story & timeline from what I read online and know about the Old Man Logan comic if y'all want?

Do it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that Joel

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First Class actually remained in the same continuity as all of the preceding films, it was Days of Future Past that changed the timelines.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Though X-Men Origins: Wolverine did have some real weirdness with Sir Patrick and Deadpool, when retroactively analysed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please please please dont mess this one up

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

they cant even make it what its based on. i just hope they make a solid movie!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's another future that will eventually get reset after X-23 is sent to the past to change the future.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hugh jackman would make a great JOEL if they ever made THE LAST OF US movie.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Soooo many wolvy movies it's ridiculous

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd like to think of these movies as not really belonging in any particular continuity, and just being individual stories.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Different continuites can be assumed to be a stable iterations of timeloops within timeloops, so there are should be unstable as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the first I've heard Patrick Stewart is in this movie, so I finally saw the trailer. I'm so excited now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This can't take place in the OG Xmen timeline- that ended in DOFP, and it can't take place in new timeline, since the end that film is happy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So why does Prof. X have hair here(

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

^*^POSIBLE SPOILERS^*^ (idk I'm just guessing)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I think professors gonna die because near the end of the trailer Logan's holding what looks to be a shovel and X-23 is comforting him

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought logan didnt age, he looks older

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Consider the following: At the end of DOFP, Xavier explains what all has happened. This includes the new Apocalypse timeline. (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This movie takes probably in the 2030's or 2040's. All the mutants from the original trilogy are also alive. (maybe.) (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is Logan as an old man, NOT Old Man Logan.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lelelell

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@OP this is so far departed from old man logan that its not remotely the same story. Have you read the comic?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At the end of the movie, Xavier will know how to play a small flute

9 years ago | Likes 233 Dislikes 0

The Inner Light. Favorite all-time episode of TNG. https://youtu.be/pS98MygfoOE

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Best episode of TNG ever. I salute you sir.

9 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

Show me picard's flute!

Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again.

DID I FREAKING ASK YOU FOR THESE FEELS?!

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

it doesn't matter if you asked you are going to be force feed them

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Worse yet, unless her movie appearances take place in a post mutant dystopia, this movie will waste X-23 for any future films.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure that's what this movie is about, but idk man

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hugh Jackman's last run as Wolverine and he never once wore the damn suit. Hugh probably channeled that frustration into his performance.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

plot twist he wears it for five mins in this one at the end

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean at the end of DOFP he body snatches his new future self. They could have just written the costume in.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oh yeah forgot that

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah left him at a really interesting point and in a brand new X-universe and then they fucking jump 30 years in the future....great.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's about the same time as days of future past, but with the altered past. Yet the mutants are still dead.

9 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 0

I think this takes place one year after the happy ending of Days of Future Past. One year! Come on, Fox.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also seems to connect to The Wolverine where he lost his immortality.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can throw a pebble into a river and cause a ripple but the river still flows in the same direction

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also the island is literally a cork and the flash-sideways was purgatory.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Until I see the movie, I'm going to assume they will answer the big questions.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you think the timelines in the X-Universe are bad, try figuring out the timeline for the Terminator franchise.

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Just read this and marvel of what should have been /a/mtSDC

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's one continuous loop, there are never big enough changes to actually stop either skynet's or John Conners' birth

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Well, there are some pretty significant changes, but time keeps rubber banding to keep getting to the same place by different paths.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Significant, not big

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A few years back I read (not an official source, just a deep analysis of time travel) that no matter what they do, Skynet has to happen.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Predestination Paradox. Whatever you change in the past has to allow for you to have a reason to travel back in time. (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless the time travel rules allow you to create an alternate timeline, but you return to your own present. (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Them trying to prevent it and succeeding just changes it again to another outcome where it does happen. It's a cycle

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Similar theory to trying to stop Hitler or World War 2 with time travel. Tensions were too high to avoid SOMETHING happening. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why are they dead? (illiterate looser asking)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure if they are going to be following the comics storyline. SPOILER.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But Logan gets tricked by Mysteryo and murders the X-Men thinking they were villians.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just my fan theory but I think because professor X is very old now and possibly suffering dementia maybe he will affect Logans mind 1/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ like mysterio and have him kill the xmen

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't Jean kill Professor X in the 2nd or 3rd one? Then, there was that dumb after credits scene where he went in a different body.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

yes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So....... this totally makes sense then.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not within the movies tho with all the fluxes. just rewatch em, youll see

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It pleases me that after all these years they still had to use makeup to make Sir Patrick look old enough.

9 years ago | Likes 749 Dislikes 1

Hey, congrats on making top comment!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not everyone was born old like Charles Bronson.

9 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 1

He will never age. In the year 2500 Emperor Patrick I will sign humanity's first peace treaty with another civilization.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yea they released a picture of him in make up before they dropped the trailer

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

This... The man is gonna live forever

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The first episode of TNG came out the year I was born. I'm 30 now. Not a day has passed for old Paddy Stewart

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 2

The first episode of TNG came out 1987. Noone born in 1987 is 30. You are a liar, a fool, or... a time traveler! Tell us who is president!

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Would you have believed them if they told you?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wasn't it in 86? My bad. Though I am actually a time traveller I just happen to be one born in 86

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or Wesley and the Traveller.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or he gave an approximate age.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I really just wanted to make the time traveling joke, given topic.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's going to be rated R. Thank you Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller.

9 years ago | Likes 180 Dislikes 5

If you watch the UK trailer it's got some far more violent scenes in it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Given the comic, there's no way it could come out with less. I'm glad they paved the way.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sucks Tim Miller left Deadpool 2

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I know!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hopefully we finally get to see Xavier drop some F bombs.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This gives me a striking idea... deadpool cameo???!?!?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There were rumours but idk if I want him in this movie even though I love him. He doesn't fit the tone at all

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But he loves wolferine. So a fanboy episode would be amazing

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you Dredd for showing the world r rated comic flicks are awesome

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 4

I forgot about Dre...dd.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

I mean Blade 1 and 2 were pretty great

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I never consciously linked that Blade was a comic. Even after helping clear out my grandfather's attic, and finding Blade comics.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Totally.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Netflix shows too; I love that they are allowed to get to the nitty gritty of the Marvel Universe.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That stairwell fight scene in season two of daredevil was amazing
