Real big brother can just hit up your internet provider for your search history.

Ghostery blocks other companies from tracking you, but it tracks you and sells your data. Use Disconnect.me

i recommend ghostery. its good for actually seeing how many people like sticking their grubby fingers in your data's proverbial piehole.

Where is Privacy Badger? https://www.eff.org/privacybadger

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly who gives a shit

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 7

NOOO ABP, use uBlock origin until they drop the ball

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With this many people switching to uBlock, it's only so long before they feel the need for greed as well

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

likely

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone heard of Bluhell? A friend of mine keeps telling me to get it instead, not sure how it compares to the others.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

UBlock Origin and Privacy Badger have been better than Ghostery and AdBlock ever were, at least in my experience.

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

As a Ghostery user... Thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ublock origin is the bomb man

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about Browsec?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Adblock lets ads through that pay them, Ghostery sells your info to other people. Use uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do not track me is called Blur now I think.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Page Eraser is good for ads that slip through or those shitty popups that block out articles on news sites.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To everyone who keeps saying abp lets ads through its an option you can check it off it asks you when you download it read a lil bit before

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Putting stuff on your devices

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

just show them everything so they have to search everywhere...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

nice repost

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

but still good to know

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Any list that recommends ABP automatically loses all credibility.

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 5

It's an extremely old list. DoNotTrackMe hasn't gone by that name for a few years. They're Blur now.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

That's what I was going to say.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a bot, lmao it's programmed to do this

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I thought this guy just new Imgur very very well. This explains a lot.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah well I didn't see it so shut your stupid whore mouth.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 10

Yeah, you tell that bot!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The human behind it replies sometimes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ABP actually allows companys to PAY to let ads through and tracks your data, cannot reccomend. use ublock origin.

Took all of 15 seconds to switch from adblock to ublock. I freaking love technology.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Adblock plus + ghostery makes for great anonymity.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

still reccomend ublock origin over adblock, but thats just me in all likelyhood.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

installed and testing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This guy is correct. Just providing source: http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/13/12890050/adblock-plus-now-sells-ads

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

thanks! i can never find that damn link.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That entire article completely neglects to mention that you can opt out of the acceptable ads thing and no ads will come through.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

How come when I try to opt out, some won't let me.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I turned it off on YouTube, to support the few channels I watch, and it started blocking ads anyway. Lame. (been using ABP for years)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

auto-blocks stuff. add them as exceptions again.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ABP thing i guess? uninstall it and use ublock origin. worth.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, and Ublock Origins is legit. However, I've never had ANY issues with ABP. I will keep using them. Props for monetizing effectively.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ublock let's youtube video ads play, which is a deal breaker for me. At least with ABP I never see ads ever

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

ublock origin, NOT ublock. different add-on/extension. use scriptsafe / ghostery aswell for more blockage.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do use origin, didn't feel like typing it out. I think i just need to get everything adjusted and read up on it more

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never had an ad on youtube with it? I'm currently only using ublock and 0 ads on youtube. You might not have configured it correctly

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I only recently switched, and went back to ABP after the youtube ads showed up. Any suggestion on configuring it right?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

how long ago was it? they may have updated ublock origin since then. i also run scriptsafe, so one of them is stoping them

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I switched about a week ago

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't seen any youtube ads after switching to ublock. is my config.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

already using it!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Mate I've already got it but you're doing imgur a fucking service. Heil oBusk

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They only allow it IF you allow it, you can disable it completely and no ads get through. That and you don't have to pay to get 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

You stay at the bottom of the comments with your truth and knowledge you heathen!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/2 whitelisted if you are a small company or person with a site if that site's ads adhere to the onobtrusive ads rules.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

doenst matter for a user. extension supposed to block ads actually letting ads thru is a no-go.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It doesn't force ads through, and is a way to support both adblock and the sites you visit. I personally disable it though.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

the reason i swapped over is WHO bought ABP. kinda shady group. link in reply:

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Disabling Javascript just seems like such a massively anal neckbeard thing to do.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Don't get me wrong though - as an anal neckbeard myself I understand, I just think, you know, live a little.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

no, its for arch wizards who use the command line interface everyday, all day. full-fledged wizard beard required.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

the sort of wizard who'd use wget from a remote machine to download web pages and then send to content to his email address to read them?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he uses a script that strips the javascript and reads the html source from console.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mmmm hmmm, I can see it now. Dank regexs unflinchingly ripping out all but the purest, most vanilla of ASCII characters.
