You might be asking why and that's fair but I don't have an answer.
I designed a 3 tier PCB system that allows for 4 games to be plugged in at once!
How do you change a game? Rotate the big platter and drop in the next!
Sure you could just lug around your games in your pocket or get a fancy pants ever drive or just emulate or literally anything else but why not use this device that's reminiscent of those ridiculous Gameboy accessories you'd find in the early 2000's?

A useful oscilloscope, I use the two we have of that model way more than the 4-channel colour 'big brother' version.

Nope. Just headers. I bought pogo pins with the intent to use them but they snapped like twigs with a little force
