There's like four cameras in the first three pages of results and they're not even controllable.

Congrats, you have connected to an unsecured IP cam. *confety*

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yes. Be sure to do this in Incognito Mode so the NSA doesn't find out.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

Depends how good your attorney is.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably. What could go wrong?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Last time this was posted there were very different answer but overall people said not really.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

In short, absolutely fucking not. But, we're rebels, and I'm using my school's wifi, so if anyone gets in shit for this, it's them.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Technically. Its not illegal. Should have permission for it to be fully legal.(Source: UK Security Camera Operator license holder)

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

(2/3) It only becomes a serious legal issue if the camera owner can prove without a doubt that your *intent* is criminal.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As an American the fact you need a license for that is just ball shrinkingly terrifying.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Have to take a course, test and everything. That costs me (at the time) £200+

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's some good looking money you have there citizen - Government probably

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm just using your highly upvoted to comment to ask if there's someway I can find out if my work cameras are unsecured? It's creepy.

10 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 0

STOP UPVOTING ME, GIVE ME ANSWERS!

10 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 1

Do you have to input a username or password when accessing them remotely?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, how would we know which one is your work, silly? You'd have to give us some serious detail.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

If they have a coax connection on the back, they're going to a DVR and no. If they have ethernet and you have ports open, maybe.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Just because it's coax doesn't mean it isn't on a network. Source- I'm a IT guy

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah the DVR is usually on the network, but a bit harder to get into than those cameras. And you'd be hard pressed to find 10base2 used
