Poor puppy has cherry eye. Vet says she appears to have an ulcer behind it as well.

She has surgery tomorrow, we are cuddling her and smothering her in affection before we betray her trust and leave her at the vet for 8 hours. Here's hoping the surgery works this time!

She will be fine. My mastiff had two cherry eyes and a hernia surgery before he was 1 year old

I wish your baby a successful surgery and a speedy and full recovery.

My Boston breeder said a little benedryl and some light massaging and it will go away without surgery.

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately we have already tried this and it hasn't helped.

Is the tear duct being removed? My dads dog had cherry eye and after surgery, she now has chronic dry eye. So much goop. Just a heads up.

The vet said that was an option but didn't recommend it. Essentially they will cut the skin around the gland and stitch it back over top.

Yeah. I wouldn't suggest it either. Even with applying eye salve everyday, her eye gets so bad. Hope all goes well!

Surgery will be a huge success. She will be confused at first, but will love you even more when recovered. She will feel the difference.

Had major surgery for one of mine in May. He is a whole new dog and loving life. Your adorable fuzz ball will be the very same.

Always! Believe me. From first hand experience, you will be glad you did and any expense incurred will not matter when you see the outcome.
