It’s been one year since I made the decision to turn my life around, to stop abusing myself with alcohol and to rebuild my life. The thought that there’s even the smallest chance that one person might see this and think “hey, if he can do it, maybe I can too,” made me want to share this accomplishment with more people. I was in a bad place, and had lost all hope that I could get better. With the support and love from my amazing family and friends, I took the first step (tentatively) on my path to sobriety.

It hasn’t been easy, there’s been plenty of ups and downs, but I’ve never been happier, or more proud of myself.
