Turtles breathe air. You killed it

Cruising down the sea, above sea floor.

I love this post. It makes me happy!

Sea turtles make really nice boots

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What a cool account!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ty. Love hearing that :-)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

last sentence "The turtle was probably bi" lol. so many questions.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mofo is likely trying to come up to breathe...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's clear water, he was at least 7 feet beneath me in the video. He was big enough to knock me out if he bumped canoe. I was standing up.

You shiuld change your name to SEAthroughCanoe

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I originally considered calling it that, but decided against it largely because google would always be auto-correcting peps. Bad google.

Have you ever considered kayaks? I would totally buy one.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The See Through Canoe is a hybrid of canoe & kayak. And is also stable enough to stand up

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Awesome! Thank you for the info.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Initially read it as "crushing me." Feel ever so slightly disappointed. :/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You’re my favorite Imgurite!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

No, no.... I'm still just an Imgurian :-) But I'm drinking milk, & one day I'll be a big strong Imgurite.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

With all that paddling! You’ll get there in no time!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where do you go to see all this stuff? I find your posts amazing w such diverse wildlife coming up to you

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I live in St Petersburg, FL so most of my vids & pics are taken here. I wander all over Fl though, a Lot. And travel when I can. And ty :-)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I see you have one of those things that lets you see what you're boating over. A nightmare canoe.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, def not for everyone. Just watching some of my vids makes some people nervous. v

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've been trying to reduce my fear. It's a long road, but I do what I can. At least alligators don't trigger my fear (even if they should).

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That Kayak is fucking awesome. As is that experience :D hope you spoke to the old folk

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where are all these clear kayaks coming from

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

See Through Canoe. Even though we call it a "canoe", it's a hybrid of canoe/kayak. Can also stand in it,

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That is insane. I would probably have a panic attack in the middle of the ocean and fall out.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like you Mr. Canoe.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This just made my day! Thanks for sharing!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It made my day too :-) Really it made my week... at the least. I've always been fascinated by turtles.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have too, they are ancient creatures. I love your canoe, brilliant!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you have any problem with the canoe getting opaque? Scratches, dirt, wear marks, etc?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1/1 Scratches fill in & disappear when it's on the water. The canoe in this vid & pic has a bunch of scratches & is a few years old.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

2/1 It has a UV coating that keeps it from getting opaque. Still good to keep it in shade when not in use. The sun breaks down everything.

Thanks. See Through Canoe, it's all in the name :-)

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

How many canoes can an upvote get me?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Perfect for canoedling

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I gotta say, yours is literally the only niche account I enjoy seeing posts from. Thank you for sharing them.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

So cool, Ty. Part of how I try to keep it interesting is to show the wildlife from a different perspective than what people are used to.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Hey OP! Can I ask where you live and make these awesome videos? (Like, general part of the globe, not creepy home address or anything)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can also rent these here in St Pete from See Through Adventures. There are other rentals ops in FL & other parts of the world too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

1/1 I'm in St Petersburg, FL. Most of my vids are taken here but I wander all over FL & take vids.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Awesome, I THOUGHT we might be neighbors! (sorta - I'm close by in the Caribbean.) Water and turtle looked similar to here!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey neighbor :-)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On the other end of the size spectrum...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

my favourite animal ♥

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That a baby alligator snapping turtle? I remember going creekin' catching the commons as a kid.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

chelydra serpentina

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I also used to go looking for snakes and turtles every day after school for many years.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, I found him on my doorstep when I came home one day. He was trying to get in the house. I let him go in a safe spot though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good looking out,

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

This is upsetting. Doesn't seem like he wants to be there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

actually these turtles are very shy and calm, they just hate beeing on land

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’d imagine most animals in some form human custody would rather be somewhere else, if given a choice.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have never met my cat, simba. He was a rescue. He is home and it shows in every move. He owns this place.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pets love their owners & vice versa. But all pets come from a wild ancestor, tamed by humans. Those wild ancestors didnt choose to be tamed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OH MY GOD I WANT IT

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a very young kid, I could never see enough turtles. Spent most of my childhood looking for snakes & turtles after school :-)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love them. Have aquatic ones and a land tortoise. They're adorable. :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even as an adult I was excited when I came home 1 day & found this guy on my doorstep trying to get inside,

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would be too. My husband and I want to buy a few acres down the road. I want a turtle farm...but he doesn't know it yet.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aka you ran over a turtle

8 years ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 2

Hard to image how drifting over a turtle @ 1 mile an hour in a canoe could be seen as "ran over a turtle". To me, "ran over" implies contact

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 15

3 words. Hit and run

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Trying to dissect the joke I see.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

I think it's just supposed to be a joke. I don't think anyone thinks you hurt him :)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It looks like the canoe is pressing on his shell idk tho it could be a matter of visual perspective because it's in the water

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

The water is super clear, he was about 7 feet below me in the video.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Um, not to quibble but your first photo has his head above water and right in front of you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe that part is mentioned in the description where it says "He surfaced right in front of me a couple times"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Perspective it is then

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He would have shot off like a rocket if we made contact. And easily could have knocked me out since I was standing up in the canoe.
