We are so excited- just got our blood results back/initial testing and things look good. I know we have a long road but the fact that we’re pregnant at all is a huge victory for us!!

If my husband sees this, hi daddy :)

(Edit)
Holy shit this is on the front page!! Now I’m worried that’s going to make my husband happier than the baby ;)! Thank you everyone, I wouldn’t wish the struggle of infertility on my worst enemy -especially with the joke that is US health care system. If you’re out there still hoping, don’t give up I see you and I hope for you too.

During 2020? I bet 20$ it's the anti-christ.

Pregnancy after infertility is very tricky. Happiest time of my life, scariest time of my life. I'm here if you need to talk! Congrats! <3

Congrats! I'm 18 weeks today. Just remember it's ok to not enjoy your pregnancy and REALLY want this baby. First trimester can be rough

My girlfriend whom I had unprotected sex with is NOT pregnant, which is almost as exciting. Congrats nonetheless

Similar boat :) congrats and happy first trimester, it’s a bitch. Remember the baby waiting on the other side of the hard days

I know no one wants to hear this, but there is already a human overpopulation.

As someone who has a high risk of miscarriages or even death during labor, it makes me so happy to see a successful pregnancy. Congrats!

Congrats! My wife and I are now 6 months along with our first kid. The journey is fun and weird with COVID, my only suggestion, enjoy it :D

Dr. Told my wife she'd never have kids at a pretty young age, 3 kids later......

How long have you been practicing medicine Mister... Doctor. Mr. Doctor. It's Told. Maybe, who am I to say? (Scene from Dr. Told)

Leo, you really shouldn't be drinking if you're pregnant...

He drinks to cope with being raped by a bear. He's trying to get help though.

Then you shouldn't be drinking. Gawd.

From one IF momma to another - there aren’t enough hugs and high fives to do this justice. Enjoy every moment. I was never more excited 1/2

Puke than the first time I got MS. Do your happy dance, sis! Big congratulations!

Be cautious and moderate your expectations. It’s an exciting time, but the first trimester is also a risky time. Hope it works out.

Yeah. 5 IVF transfers/8 embryos, 3 miscarriages by 8w, 1 outright fail, 1 chemical. On to surrogate.

Congratulations!!!! :D

Gives me a wee bit of hope. Congrats! We’re 15 months in, one failed IUI...boy is it a journey we never expected to be on!

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

With you, it sucks. Big time!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Third one took for us. I know the struggle, month after month of hope and disappointment. It’s all consuming. Best of luck!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Good to know! So torn about whether IUI is a waste of time but we’re unexplained (yay... ugh) so who knows!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same! Unexplained secondary infertility. We were one cycle away from quitting when it took. I think the cost of adoption/IVF is such that a

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

few cycles of IUI make sense. It was not too bad, $400/month. I had a great doctor that was reasonably priced.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

IIRC at a certain point it doesn’t make sense to do any more cycles, the chances of it taking are minimal. Maybe try to that point?

If I thought like that, I'd kill myself

Fertility treatments mean the sex failed and they used science. Also RIP their bank account.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If they lived in the civilized world there would be hope for the bank account.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

fertility treatments usually start with cycle monitoring and timed intercourse, then IUI and then IVF.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily, going by op's post

5 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 3

They finally decided to try the wrong hole.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually, chances are they had a LOT of sex until they found out that it wasnt working and had to get IVF or whatever its called.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I know, from personal experience. Only we found out too soon for my liking ;p

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He's right. They probably did IUI or IVF treatments. No sex required. The husband probably had to masturbate though. Just saying.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My husband didn’t even get to do that. Direct surgery on his balls to get sperm.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ouch ouch ouch

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And now I feel even worse for couples that have trouble with this. Sorry that dudes balls

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yikes. I hope mine won't have to do that. We're starting our first IUI next month so we'll see how it goes. Congrats on the pregnancy @op!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good luck! It was an incredibly emotional moment that I wasn’t even expecting. Am so lucky to have an amazing RE & Team!
