Today I sold the hand gun that I had bought for my now ex-wife's birthday present. After the sale I came home and saw my neighbor sitting on her steps crying, being the big softie that I am I asked if she was alright and if I could help, found out that she's basically broke after paying her rent and has no food for her or her kids. I told her that things would be alright, and I left shortly after she went back inside. I used the money from the sale to get her diapers for her kids (2 and 1) as well as groceries for the week, maybe two, and left what I had left over in one of the shopping bags in case she needed gas as well or if I had missed something she needed. Left the pile of bags gently Infront of her door, rang the door bell, and ran back inside my apartment. She'll probably figure out that it was me eventually if she hasn't already, but I was able to use an item that brought back a lot of pain for me and turned it into a blessing for someone down on their luck. Thanks for letting me share!

TL:DR sold a present meant for my ex wife, bought groceries for my neighbor down on her luck with it

Dog tax, pouting because we didn't share any donuts

@op I don't give to charities, but I do stuff like this too. Gave $1000 to my friend so he wouldn't get evicted.

I don't give to beggers, but when I saw a man take fries out of a trash can at a gas station, I gave him $5.

Could you even imagine a ton of people selling their guns to donate money to food banks?

A rifle company made and auctioned off special edition rifles to pay for a boy's surgery/therapy recently.

Well that was good of them.

What made you decide not to go through with shooting your ex wife? Or did you kill her? It's not quite clear from your post.

5 years ago | Likes 354 Dislikes 5

Lmao well didn't kill her, truth being told it would have been a waste of a bullet. Far as I know she's alive and well in Georgia somewhere

Is your neighbour single? Not saying that could/should be a motivation, but together is better, in my experience

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

She's not single and right now I'm not even looking for another partner, after losing the last decade of my life I'm taking time to heal but

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I understand the thought process, and taking no I'll will from it!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nooooo no no no. Don't help someone like that in such a vulnerable position and then express romantic interest. Will seem like you think 1/

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2/ they owe you. At the least they'll be uncomfortable, at the most they'll be scared. Rejecting guys can be scary. Rejecting a guy who

3/ thinks he's entitled to a yes is terrifying, and she would have no way of knowing whether you're the kind of person who thinks that way.
