Don't know where this is, but we get them in (utterly harmless) hordes in Arkansas, too. Never seen them quite that *dense*, but I've seen them covering walls or windows. As @ByThePowerOfSCIENCE says, they're not really spiders.
Imagine running from a lion and spotting a hairy tree to climb... Jump up on the tree trunk only to be instantly covered in Harvest men. Letting go and curling up into the fetal position and deciding that it would be better to just get eaten by the lion.
They are really harmless. Used to let them crawl all over me as a kid. They don't have any venom, can't make webs. They are related to spiders but not spiders themselves.
